I'm feeling happy and sad at the same time. I made the decision tonight not to go away with friends next weekend.:o

Obviously I'll miss out on the fun but I need to put paying the bills and catching up with unexpected expenses first at the moment. i do feel proud of myself though, which is why I feel happy as well as sad, In the past I would have gone anyway, whether I could afford it or not, and probably borrowed in order to do so.

I've stopped worrying so much now about what other people think.........so I must have moved into a new era!:T:T

There will be other good times to look forward to. I'm going to start taking a leaf out of your book Westie and start saving my £1 and £2 coins. The next trip/special occasion will be saved up for in advance

New era indeed you are another day older and that means you are maturing...

yes do it I find it highly satisfying and I don't miss them in my purse, but I do find myself buying small items with large notes then repeating just to maximise the chances of coinage, those self service machine are like waiting for the coins to drop in a pier arcade... will it pay out £2 coins this time, I like the surprise and the anticipation

good luck my friend good luck

Thanks Westie, from reading your diary you seem to play a game I used to like to play called "change it up" where I save up enough 2ps or 5ps etc etc until I get to change them for a lovely £1 or £2!:D

  • Hi hummingbird, just checking in... sounds like you are plodding along (much like me) and still determined. Springtime makes me more determined I find! And I am now addicted to seeing the debt come down - it feels so much better than spending! Onwards and upwards with the debtbusting :)
Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!

Am back in the UK, and starting my catch up on the diaries, looks like you've been busy (or very bored and chatty ;) )
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
