Yay for getting back to the radio station.
Well done on the will power to only get water!

The bus pass sounds a great perk of the volunteering, but I'll be tutting at you if you stop walking and only ever get the bus there :p

LOL scuba!! The exercise is definitely good - it's 45 mins each way to walk! I sometimes walk into town as well, that's 90 mins each way!!!!!

I do think I'll walk less once I get my pass but I do like my walks around the lovely countryside we have nearby so that will hopefully make up for it!!:T

I know that feeling, I live in a similar area, would love to walk more but the roads are just too narrow and almost all national speed limit so I don't like to risk it. I like the walk in to town from my house as its just under 3 miles and I can choose the main roads or the slightly shorter routes which let me cut across country lanes which feel fairly safe as mostly they're little more than tracks.

Bank Holiday Weekend!:j:j Hope everyone is enjoying it. I've had a couple more enjoyable social events. On Thursday I was at a friend's leaving do from the place I used to work at - went for pizza and a few drinks. I'd only intended to stay for a couple of hours but because my neighbour was there and offered to bring me home I was able to stay longer. It was great to catch up with everyone - I really miss my work colleagues :o

Then also yesterday afternoon I was at a party being held in a hall, which was one of those lovely family-type occasions. Went back with a few friends after helping with all the clearing up for a chinese - lovely treat.

The thing about all this is though, if anyone had asked me until recently if I had a social life I would have said no not really - it's been really eye-opening for me since starting this diary just how much I actually do and what a problem it is to my finances!! At least I'm aware of it now and hopefully can put Westie's tips into action! (Especially for that wedding in July!!)

    Hi Hummingbird

Your Sunday sounded busy and sometimes those spontaneous days count more and even better that you could stay for longer.

Yay for Chinese that's your payment for all you help and again your friends are very kind, don't forget the only way to stay on the debt free wannabe ride is to enjoy yourself and not to restrict your spending too much that you forget to have some you time and enjoy yourself, spending a little doesn't mean you have fallen off just adapt and continue on the ride, every ride has ups and downs just ride with them...

If spending is budgeted it's not bad spending but planned spending and soon you may find you don't spend the budgeted money and that can be your reward money to treat yourself, maybe at the end of the year...

Keep going with the budgeting for the wedding :)
