you did see the part where i said got back after midnight didnt you? so any jobsearch would have been recorded by the website as being the next day.Charlotte17 wrote: »Went to London for the day so there was NO time to job search? Really? When you got back maybe?0 -

no I didn't as I was trailing through the non stop posts - 17 more posts to go
So you applied for twice as many jobs the next day?
I don't just stop at midnight and go "ok it's tomorrow"
When does the "next day" start? Surely it's all the same.
I would have still had a quick look in case there was one with a closing date etc.0 -
yeah i did a little more the day before and the day after as i needed something to put down for that day. i was tired i had had a long day so i did what any sane person would do and went straight to bed. any jobseeking i might have done wont have been counted as that day by the website anyway due to being after midnight.Charlotte17 wrote: »no I didn't as I was trailing through the non stop posts - 17 more posts to go

How do you think people that work find new jobs? The internet doesn't shut down at 5pm!0 -

I don't know if you are employed or not, but I guess you are not based on the tone of your replies. If you are unemployed maybe you should ask your work coach for advice on what you can do to look for work on a Sunday.I'm sure they will provide you with a list as long as your arm as to what you can do to improve your chances of gaining employment, if, that is your aim.0 -
Me, I went for the creative approach. Lunch with an ex-work colleague? That's got to be at least a couple of hours of networking. Voluntary work? That's work experience towards a change of career. And fun.
The job centre may have got stricter had I been on JSA for longer, but whilst I was seriously job hunting, I certainly didn't do 35 hours a week. Because there weren't that many jobs out there - even being a little selective I was being told I was over qualified, and I wasn't going to chuck in lots of forms for the sake of it. Smiing nicely and pretending to play the game kept them off my back for as long as it took. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

how about if people here want to be clever they can enlighten us. remember no net, no computer, no local paper with job ads, most employers not working etc. the jobcoaches at the jobcentre dont expect people to jobsearch on sundays if they dont have the net at home.I don't know if you are employed or not, but I guess you are not based on the tone of your replies. If you are unemployed maybe you should ask your work coach for advice on what you can do to look for work on a Sunday.I'm sure they will provide you with a list as long as your arm as to what you can do to improve your chances of gaining employment, if, that is your aim.0 -

Well you are lucky then having such a lenient work coach. Like I said JSA is a 7 day benefit so you are expected to do all you realistically can 7 days a week in order to be entitled to the JSA payments. Why no paper - pick up free copies from your supermarket that's open Sundays???Most employers not open Sunday? Don't think so these days...Get ur CV out to them speculatively - it does actually work you know....Anyway I can go on all day but today is my day off so I will stop there as got a week ahead of it starting in the morning....0 -
donnajunkie wrote: »it depends whether what you have planned takes up the whole day or not. when i went to london we left very early in the morning and i didnt get home until after midnight.
Good time management skills can free up time to spend as you wish.donnajunkie wrote: »yes being distracted by worrying about whether i have fulfilled the jobcentres requirements this week cant help.
It isn't just about fulfilling requirements it is about finding a job...0
