OP, I'd love to buy your neighbour's house, and you could retain your ROW until we put a proper road in for you to access your garden properly.
That would be very nice Mrs Imp - we would love to have you as a neighbour
Alas, I fear (judging by the price) that it's either too small or too far from work.
But at the moment it is greatly over priced so you could then double the size of the house with an extension.
As to how far it is to work - I could loan you my bicycle
CC = £000000000000000000000 !!!!!
BOMAD = £2650 / £2800
APEX = £4770 / £8000

You haven't met the children!! The garden looks perfect for eldest to run around in. He usually needs about 2 hours a day at the park.

We're southern-based for work, so 190k might just about get a 1 bed flat. That kind of price does make it tempting to move though....0 -
£145K here gets you 3 bed mid terrace, 1 acre land and a barn here ..... you even get a Right of Way over next doors land :rotfl:CC = £000000000000000000000 !!!!!

I foresee a slight snag to house-swopping there....it also gets you a septic tank. Don't think I'd fancy a septic tank set-up personally...
At a guess...you're oop north somewhere? Bit cold for some of us Southern Softies...:rotfl:0 -

No sewerage charges from the water authority, though, and properly respected, it may not need emptying for 5 years. Allowing for maintenance, it's probably similar in cost to mains drainage.
Now you know what the large gardens are for! :rotfl:0 -

Nope - nearly as far east as you can get in England.No sewerage charges from the water authority, though, and properly respected, it may not need emptying for 5 years. Allowing for maintenance, it's probably similar in cost to mains drainage.

I would have a septic tank any day over mains drainage.
(well actually ours is a sewage treatment plant - a glorified septic tank)
Does not smell at all, is no intrusion and costs us about £85 a year to have it emptied. The maintenance I do myself and costs about £20 a year for an air pump service kit.
I'm not sure what mains drainage costs nowadays, but I bet its more than £100 a year.
Whatever happens down the street in the way of blockage to mains drainage, or pump breakdown, or neighbours putting rubbish down the loo - just doesn't and will never effect us.

I agree - we had no issues at all with the (private) septic tank at our last house, despite my initial fears having never had one before. Never had to empty ours in the three years we were there - the PO had it done just before we purchased in 2011. We had the option to go over to mains drainage but preferred things the way they were.......did wonders for the garden too, lol :rotfl:
Quite miss it here in our new village

So, how about you not give permission for anything and buy next door yourself. Then do the rights of way yourself-increasing the value of the two and also subdivide and build another house/semi, or sell as a site

We would love to - but with my minimum wage finances, dodgy credit record and struggling to run our little house in the middle it's a no go.
The daft thing is, that if we had money we could really do something with both properties. It takes money to make money, and unfortunately I haven't got any.CC = £000000000000000000000 !!!!!
