Overcharged in Lidl

Why would you queue again. I check my receipt before packing, and if there's something wrong with it, I go right back to the till in front of the queue.
You wouldn't if I was there and you stood in front of me without explaining why.Of course I let the employee finish the current customer...
How kind.
You sound like an idiot.0 -

Are people that careless?
How smug!
The OP didn't say how much the bill was - could have been £60 or more so it might not have been immediately obvious. And they said they were in a hurry.
For goodness' sake.0 -

I do the same. To go back into the queue, you have to go out of the store and then go back in. You might end up with a different assistant. It's much simpler to just complain right away.0 -

Maybe you have just seen the cashier finishing me and I was in the queue right before you?nicholaswitchell wrote: »How kind.

Wow, nice people here. You even got a "Thanks" for that...I do the same. To go back into the queue, you have to go out of the store and then go back in. You might end up with a different assistant. It's much simpler to just complain right away.
Thanks, I started worrying about the state of my mind after seeing a second person giving a "Thanks" to his post.
The same is with returns. Since Lidl doesn't have a helpdesk I always enter from the exit and go to a cashier. If you go the other way you might get accused of trying to steal goods. There is no other way to do it right in Lidl.0 -

If that happened to me I'd remove the product from the counter, tell the cashier to ignore you unless you queue and hand my products to the cashier to scan if you were in the way at all.
But this is Lidl's fault. They don't have a customer service desk. I can't bring previously bought goods into the store without being accused of shoplifting. If the cashier is very busy, he then rings his bell and someone else comes to assist me. But the cashier is always my first point of contact.
What's next? Do I get told off by people like you when I try to change my £2 coin so that I can use a trolley? Do you want me to queue for that too?0 -

I always queue for returns. I wouldn't make a special trip to return something. Also, the exit is one-way...
If I'm complaining about being overcharged, the odds are that the person who was behind me is still being served (but that doesn't stop complaints!)
One annoying thing about Lidl is that they often close a checkout and ask people to go to another - so the ones who were at the front of the queue end up at the back....0 -
You really can't mean that you pay BEFORE you start putting your shopping into bags! I hope I'm never behind you in the queue.
Of course I pack it after I pay. The cashier scans the items, I put the items back into the trolley, then I pay and after that I go to the designated area for packing (and checking the receipt). There I have much more time to pack the items the way I want. So much quicker for the people behind me in the queue. Your questions can only mean that you never been to Lidl or Aldi. If you are, then I hope I'm never behind YOU in the queue.0 -
