Evening all,
Today was SFD number 19 :j :j If I can get another one tomorrow, then I will equal my best ever SFD score, and definitely my best since NSK left us. I feel like I stuck to my SFDs etc more when NSK was here as I know she would have had words to say if I didn't (in a good way!) and I found that really motivational. However, I think maybe this month has shown me that I can control my spending myself
On a much more annoying note, OH discovered today that the finance scheme for a purchase had committed to, wasn't an option because they had a minimum amount that they would finance and he was under that. I have had to use one of the credit cards to bail him out and he has agreed to pay it back at the same rate as the finance scheme.
The decluttering has continued, with 2000+ photos being thrown away! I feel liberated, I have been through every album and removed the ones that I didn't really like/had duplicates of/fingers over the edge etc. I now have 3 empty albums and a pile of photos that never made it into albums to sort through.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Welshkitty my fridge freezer hasn't been working properly for ages. try switching it off for 15 minutes apparently the factory settings restore then, got to be worth a try, one of friends found this out off manufacturer after she had lost all her food.
Lilt sounds horrifying, kids do go through biting stage but bite others usually. Grandson has been head banging walls, floors but seems to be past this now, just licks everything including playground floor.Hope you manage to sort it out.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Oh Calling. That is a bit of bad news.
Welsh kitty - how strange you said about your TV. We have had ours since 2007. A lovely big plasma screen. Anyway tonight it suddenly made a really weird noise and I can only describe it like the TV went electrified. Lasted a second.no smoke or anything else. I wonder if it was a surge? But if not then that is not a good sign.
Lilt - Glad this afternoon has been good but I am also worried to hear about Jelly biting herself. That must be very scary to see as a Mum. Does she have excema? Just wondering if she is doing it because of skin itching?
Fmess - & Lilt - thanks for the good wishes." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Calling thanks for the advice. It's currently turned off. Let's just hope I remeber to switch it back in in 10 minutes time!
Bob that doesn't sound good about your tv. Please be careful with it.
I won't be rushing out to buy anything new and will make the last as long as I can, but am preparing for the worst!0 -
Hi everyone! It's quiet in here lately. Are you all hiding because you have been naughty???!!!
Remembered to turn the fridge freezer back on before bed. Not sure if it has done anything to help or not. Will have to keep an eye on it. Have been to look at replacements today as well as TVs. It's going to set me back at least £400 if they do both need replacing. Will hang on as long as possible!
As it's the end of the month, have continued with the naughty streak and been out for lunch. My thinking is that if I get it out of my system now then I can start afresh in April! Off to plan my new budgets now...0 -
It is quiet welshkitty - I've been checking on here regularly today (as I'm on holiday at home) so glad you posted
Trying to be very good today, want to get to 20 SFDs and want to stick to my diet, both of which are proving difficult. However, due to the crazy weather sunshine and blue skies one minute, heavy rain the next, gusting winds and the occasional downpour of hail - I have just got back in my pjs after finishing tutoring. Anyone else got this crazy weather?
I too am planning my plan of attack for the month. I have set my budgets already and started spending them as my budgets are from 25th to 24th each month. I am currently only 38.6% away from debt freedom. It seems so near, yet so far at the same time! I need to pay off an average of £643 off the debt a month for the next 8 months. I figure this might be doable for the months where I have tutoring (April, May and then possibly November and December) and when I do some examining work (June or July, or maybe both) but then the others months I will have no additional income and my wage definitely won't stretch to paying off the much each month. Ho hum, will just have to wait and see I guess.
Sorry for the ramble!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Mad weather here too. It's sunny at the moment, but really windy. Was really heavy rain when we were driving earlier and I think sleet at one point, but luckily it stopped before we needed to get out of the car. Back home now with heating on as its really cold.
You're doing really well fmess so just keep at it! I have currently paid around 28% of my debt off but have decided with my final student finance payment in 2 weeks I will clear the debt. It will mean things will be tight until I get a full time job (hence why I am trying to save an emergency fund) but it will feel soooo good to be debt free! Actually, I will still have car finance....but that is one of my luxuries that I think is worth paying for.0 -

Thank you
How exciting that you'll be debt free so soon :j What field of work will you be looking for?
I have been doing lots of calculations and feel really motivated to earn more money, I just wish there was a way to do it right now :rotfl: There is a promotion going at work but it is in a direction that I don't think I want to go in, I'm half tempted to put in an application but I need to be realistic and it would reduce my already imbalanced work-life balance.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

I waiting to hear about an auditing role I have applied for, but would be open to other roles in the public sector or voluntary organisations. My degree is quite a broad subject so could lead into various roles.
While promotion sounds great, I think you have to do what makes you happy. I've been feeling really deprived the last few months which I think is why I went off the rails! While most of us are here because we want to save money, pay off debts, boost our income, I think it is all secondary to personal happiness. Even if it takes a bit longer to reach our goals, surely it's better to make the journey a happy one?0
