Most of the properties are 'Open plan' around here but I have oft wondered if that would help. I dont actually live there (i use it on&off) hence the lack of furniture - I live alone, likewise curtains blinds Etc.
Price is on par. At the lower end of tired 4 bed detached with no garden Etc and in a particularly good area. (Near train, bus, schools & shops but still quiet cul-de-sac)
Thanks for compliment SC. The building to left of that house you spotted is a 'presently being developed' secondary school. 3000 pupils. :)

So nothing TOO detrimental then. :( I wonder if a change of agent will do it but they all use Rightmove so.....?

The kitchen is obviously new but I can't quite put my finger on why I don't really like it. I think its the far end I don't like, it seems confused, like it can't decide whether to be a study or a dining room or something else.

The desk puts me off for some reason. I love the kitchen, but I think the bit at the end should just be a dining room. I quite like the idea of a little dining room tucked at the end, but the desk immediately makes me think it's a small house so they had nowhere else to put it. I would ditch the desk and make it look like a nice dining area.

I agree re: the living room part which looks small and the sofa facing a wall is odd.

The lack of a wall between the two properties would put me off.

So you paid 215k end of 2007, have you turned it from a 2/3 bed into a 4 bed or was it already like that when you bought it?

Maybe people are looking at the Zoopla estimate of £270331 and wondering why you want £110,000 more. I don't pay too much attenetion to Zoopla estimates but some do!

Pic 2 confuses me. Do you have a block of flats at the end of your garden?!?

If you look further you will see that the adjoining house - same size was on the market for £380k a couple of years back. I bought it as a wreck.

The back of my house - but if you thought it, others might. :)

And YES, I too hate the lounge - We usually site that sofa ACROSS the room facing TV but felt that the back of a sofa would't help either.

There is however, another sofa BEHIND the photographer facing the TV which would need to be a 60" to be able to view it comfortably.

  • As other comments re living room set up

    Kitchen looks great

Remove picture 14 - for both vertigo reasons and also looks more of a problem than it might be for anyone who may struggle with mobility issues

I did wonder... but as it looks nothing like the front, I thought it must be a different building!

What's the view like the other way? No multi-story car parks or anything?

Nope. Just trees and the top of the neighbours shed at bottom of his garden.

Just needs a little TLC. I am guessing you are male?

The Front room needs a better sofa or at least placement. The big sofa is placed in the narrowest space. Anywhere but there frankly. As has been said, lose the study area downstairs.

I think upstairs lets the place down. But all a quick fix.
All the curtains shown are horrible/bland. The main lampshade in pic 10 is particularly uninspiring and the thing on the floor beside the mirror looks like a kids potty- no offence. The bedside table nearest the viewer should be moved over to cover the socket. It is not a feature. The master Bed needs a headboard. The other rooms need beds and soft furniture in brighter/fresher colours. As it stands, the bathroom is the best room upstairs imo.
  • Just my brief thoughts, please don't take offence.

Outside - colour out the front to break up the driveway and house - flower pots
Hallway - blue isn't everyone's cup of tea
Living room - shuffle the furniture. Maybe move the tv so the room is more "homely"
Kitchen - needs some personality. The configuration of furniture is slightly awkward
Bedroom 1 - brighter paint colours
Bedroom 3 - furniture. Lick of paint
Bathroom - much nicer than the description would suggest

Nothing matches. I'd suggest painting the hallway be a priority and adding finishing touches. It doesn't look lived in.

Make sure you get some good new photos afterwards and I reckon you'll get some people in. :)
