    Hey you

Sorry you're feeling poorly. I have a migraine so am also suffering from light sensitivity. Can't stay on long today

Well done on your super haul from tesco. What on earth was it all?! Can you freeze it?

I casually forget in the winter that I live in a seaside town... then the sun comes out and suddenly a bunch of randoms are walking around outside my house in bikini top and shorts. :D And the smell of barbecues makes me so hungry all of the time!

Feel better soon hun. Have had this horrific sore throat every evening for the last few, but it didn't shift by morning today so been battling with that as well. Ironic as it is a bit better finally this evening.

More painkillers and try to sleep it off hun xx

That's weird, I've never come across a computer than doesn't allow you to change the brightness. Have your IT team locked down this functionality? Is it a laptop or a tower at work? If it's a laptop, you should be able to see a symbol that looks like a sun and an arrow on your keyboard. Otherwise, go to control panel/hardware and sound/power options, you will see a slider at the bottom of this window. Additionally, if you have a separate screen, they all should have their own brightness controls.

    Don't dislocate! D:

hey Lilty, thanks for popping by, I felt bizarre on sunday and I thought it was because I was back to work but now its looks like the beast of the cold was waiting to break through....

I agree about the seaside bit, I like a stones throw from the harbour and beachfront, so find that the world and its wife comes to the town when the weather gets above 18 lol... I love the smell of BBQs but not the amount of rubbish that is left behind, seaside living does produce seagulls though and those blighters can be annoying at 5am....

sorry to hear you are not feeling well I do honestly believe its the curse of retuning to work after an extended break...

Peaty yes I do have a brightness knob on the monitor at work on the computers as they are stand alone tower and screens onto of a passbook printer but they don't seem to dim enough for my eyes, or that I am very sensitive to the lights atm... its not good when 100% of my working day constitutes working with a computer monitor, although I also don't think its that hygenic to be coughing and sneezing then handling cash... did get a few strange looks today and to be honest I would give the cashier a wide berth if I saw her looking like me today... hoo hum... if it gets any worse I'm staying put tomorrow and enjoy a duvet day....

lets see if the cold will be killed off overnight by my painkillers, preferable within the next hour or so as I am slowly running out of tissues....

Not a well girlie at all -

my head feels like its in a vice and a heard of elephants are playing the bongos behind my eyes.... someone has turned up the drip speed from my nostrils and my body feels like its made of concrete, every time I move it hurts....

typical the day the UK warms up, I am pinned to my bed, will have to enjoy the view from my second floor window, with the smidgen view of the sea...

book his to bugs that invade your body unannounced and unwanted :-(

    good afternoon fellow subscribers,

No potting or saving today so far as I'm still on my sick bed, :-( although no savings I am enjoying the sun, blinds are up and windows are open, can hear the pleasure summer outside but can't even imagine trying to get out in it, my legs and body and head just dont feel very connected right now...

Only advantage to having a sick day was I was in to take in a parcel of my new coffee machine, as I bought new coffee pods that didnt work in my existing machine so had to buy another one, not very MSE but I do like my coffee, I now have a little coffee corner in my kitchen.. mmmm lots of options to make coffee, cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, frappes, you name it I think I have something to make it....

maybe I should change my thread title to addicted to collecting coins and making coffee lol...

hope its makes my head feel better or put me into a caffeine dosed nap...

Now Ive posted, the tiger in my stomach has told me its hungry with the loudest grown I've heard, after the cold stealing my appetite yesterday it seems like today is the day to replace....

Hope everyone has a good Thursday,

    :0)

    Success

I have just taken a phone call from Npoweruseles in relation to my worded email I send a couple of days ago about their stupid systems and their lack of ability to refund me the credit on my account. I have just been told that they are totally sorry with the service they have provided (or lack off) that they are not sure what has happened to my refund and why is wasn't sent back to me as requested in after my march bill, I only got £68 not the @201 I was expecting, so I have now been compensated for the phone calls, time and the "stress" caused.

I have now been assured that my refund has been authorised and sent back to my current account with a additional £50 for the inconvenience that I have had to wait a month for the credit to be sent back, and they have agreed to put me on quarterly DD so I only pay what I have used in the three preceding months.

The issue has been narrowed down to that I am not only a low energy user I am a very low energy user (mentioned the heating issue a couple of posts ago) and thus their computer systems will not accept a DD amount any less the £30 for both fuels, this is where the problem has lies as I don't use £90 of energy each quarter when the bills are issued so end up with a refund every time the bill is paid. then the silly systems reevaluate my DD and put it back up again.....

Hopefully its sorted out and I will be £109.00 better off in a few days, just in time for pay day.....

No potting for me as I am still harbouring the lurgy but this means that I have also had a NSD too...

Okay so it's a new week and a new month for me so to thought I'll set myself some goals for this week.

    1. Ring the doctors to make a pain medication review (just not getting the pain under control)
    2. Ring hospital transport to book for my follow up appointments to check my hip.
    3. Check when my interest free period ends on my old student account

    7. Check the food stores and work out if I can avoid food shopping

I have 12 items on Fleybay some Jamie Oliver Cook Books, (and Ink Cartridges) and looks like four will sell, currently have £32 in the pot, but I'm not sure I have put the right P&P as every seems to want free now, so I will take a little bit of a hit on that, not bad as they have been sitting unused in my kitchen cupboard for about seven years since I moved in.

making pennies from my sick bed feels good...
