Still no invitation to apply for this even though we were told in the email that we would be one of the first to be able to apply. Why are they taking so long to get their act together? After all, they have known about this in principal since 2013.
Anybody else on here got their "invitation" yet?0 -
Give them chance!! They will probably emailing people on a rolling basis, starting with those who registered first in batches. This way they can monitor the system for issues and deal with them in a controlled manner without having thousands of people on the phone irate because something is not working!0

Actually not, I am a foreign immigrant, me and my husband pay regularly taxes to the Gov, but unfortunately don't have a "UK" passport or a "UK" driving licence. Maybe they know something we don't and are getting ready to please the next PM, if everybody reasons as yourself.
I'm in the same situation. I guess my wife could apply for a driving licence, seems a bit daft though.0 -

Hi,
Does anyone know what the amount is based on. I am a higher rate tax payer but make net payments to my pension thus reducing my 40% tax liability to a point where I don't pay any 40% tax. Is this taken into consideration for this tax relief?
Thanks0 -

If you pay tax at 40% you can't benefit from this. The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
I'm not sure it is as straight forward as that
During the year I pay 40% tax.
But once I've done my self assessment my 40% tax is zero.
It might become more obvious once we can all apply.0
