Registered asap in Feb and got the email to register last night. They've outsourced it to Experian or the Post Office and another company. For Experian you need your passport and NI number. And a mobile phone. The others also need a picture card type driving licence.
Tried using Experian. Had everything they needed. Went through the whole tiresome process to be told they cannot register me, they don't have enough info and to try again in a week!
There is no other way of doing it. You cannot go direct to the tax man.
Absolute joke!
As I am one of the first to try I look forward to see how many people manage to register for it.0 -
Blimey!
Just read through here, found the phone number and phoned. Got through in 2 minutes and all sorted.
What a criminal waste of money the auto system is going to be!0 -

MrsM had the invite e-mail. Could not verify due to no pasport/photo licence. Called the number at 0855, on hold 2 mins and details processed. The allowance will be transferred to me but they could not allocate it to a particular one of my split code so will have to wait and see, I assume I will get another P2, hope they allocate it to the correct one as they were set up at the beginning of the year with this in mind.0

What did they say when you called.
My wife called and they said "thank you for adding your new partner, you'll get something in the psot".0 -

Do you get something in writing to show it has been transferred?0 -

Firstly the tax office is being inundated with people who cannot get the system to work. So much so that it is one of the recorded responses on the site!
When you get them they take both your NI numbers and confirm you will receive written notification of both tax codes being changed.0 -
So if people are getting through and only waiting 2 minutes, can they please give us the number? I'm just on constant hold. Thanks0
