Just popped in to say you are doing great & deserve a gold star for changing your hours to enable you to pick up from school. There are ifs & buts just the decision you've made. If only we could change things but none of us can & all you can do is be what you already are 'the best mummy'.

Facinated by the number of times lentils are talked about on MSE. Green orange or puy or is there a secret lentil code!

Thanks so much Fizzy, your kind words mean a lot.

I have to admit, I've been very lentil-disobedient of late, I FORGOT to put them in the shepherd's pie I made for Ds at the weekend - shhh - don't tell Lilty!

OH - big news - he only went and ate the bl00dy shepherd's pie!!!!! Even though the carrots and other hidden veg were discarded immediately. But he ate it! I was so happy I could've cried! lol. Get a grip Jo.... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sometimes I think two parents stress about them eating just becomes too much for them. Just left to his own devices he will pick at stuff. I saw a receipt for a tomato sauce which said add loads of veg then just give it a good old you know what so it just looks like thick tomato sauce with pasta.

Bringing up kids is hard but actually sitting watching a DVD is spending time together. It will do your BP the world of good.

Thanks Fizzy, you're right on both accounts I'm sure!

Today is dragging like a dragging thing. :(

Anyone else feel like they have no motivation or will to do anything lately? I have to force myself to get things done, it's flippin' rubbish. Even the 'fun stuff' doesn't seem like fun anymore.
Hope I snap out of it soon. :(

Morning chuck. Mothers Day for you sounds lovely. I am sorry I didn't get here to wish you a happy day, as I wanted to do as Levi did and remind you that you are fantastic, but I was in a stinking mood and never made it very far over the last few days.

I had to laugh at Ginge.. :rotfl: and I can vouch for feeling like I do not want to do anything at all. I type this from bed where I have convinced Jelly it is cool to eat her lunch. And do anything else she wishes. I've listened to her awesome little Scout pal, Violet, discussing custard and green and hippo's with her, and spelling her name.. rather a lot today. Not to mention done the wheels on the bus a dozen times. But I have only just put some washing on, not done the pots or tidied anywhere and that is very not like me. The only reason the washing is on is because 3 new work shirts just turned up and they need a wash, dry and iron for the week! I think people might keel over if I wear a skirt and a shirt to work tomorrow. I might break them in gently and wear a pair of my new work trousers, with a shirt and a cardigan :rotfl:

Anyways enough rambling. I should probably do.. something. Much love...

P.S fizzy I really :rotfl: at your secret lentil code!! We discuss them because they are a cheap way to double your portions without adding meat, and add a lot of protein and fibre, so I find if I eat them at work, I can get away with no meat and don't snack half as much! ;) - it has taken me a long time to get into the habit of using them, but I finally have the hang of the red ones. Whack a pile in a sieve, rinse in a bowl of cold water until it is all white and cloudy and they have been thoroughly rinsed, and then add into a pan, with boiling water and cook for 10 minutes or so, until they start to go a bit translucent. Add them into your mince and then carry on making your bolognese/chilli/shepherds pie as you would normally (you may need a touch more liquid than usual) and then once that has been cooked they are barely noticeable in both flavour & texture but you suddenly have double the mix ;) -as for the green. I have learner plates on there. I've got 5 125g bags of cooked green lentils in the freezer... left over from an 8 portion curry that was threatening to overspill the giant pan it as in if I added any more :rotfl: - can't get my weight right with dried ones :rotfl: xx

Ah you're lovely you are Lilty :)

And is it wrong I'm a bit jealous of your duvet day, even though it involves a slightly sicky child, a purple dog and green hippos?
Actuallly, the last two bits sound pretty awesome!

Something has cheered me up... and I NEED to show you all photos, but how do I upload the bloomin' things from my desktop? Anyone have any ideas? Keeps asking me for a blasted URL.

OOOH I did it!!! Looky at what's coming to live with me :D
Ok, so I spent some money, but my dining chairs are on their last legs, desperately need replacing or recovering and these were on an 80% clearance deal and are ex-display so may have a few marks, but I don't care, they're all bright and shiny and lovely!!!!

Lilty, I don't hold you responsible AT ALL... :p;):o:rotfl: 14tu39l.jpg

Whilst I'm on a roll, I can now show you the cake-part of my mother's day gift from DS and what the little monkey did next...

No idea how to get them the right way up, you'll just have to crook your necks :)

OMG I LOVE your chairs. I am super jealous!! I need them. Mainly because I found a table in that place with the rubbish sideboard and I want it, but it has no chairs!! Yours are MEGA!!!

And one of my new shirts has to have cufflinks, so Him suggested Minion ones.. and here comes you with my ideal cake. The only cake that could better that would be my little pony!!! :rotfl: I had a my little pony advent calendar last year :D

Bless O, what a little cutie! As for my duvet day, I've a snoring small next to me and just got a call from the hairdressers where we should have been right now. Whoops. :( she has a bright red and hot cheek and I think it might be her sinus as she has spent the entire day doing little sniffs permanently. Poor monkey.

I keep scrolling back up to look at the chairs. They are so awesome :D I blame me. Totally! xx

P.S well done on the pic uploads. I usually upload to tiny pic and then copy the IMG code. Another way you can do it is, if you have it on Facebook, you can right click the picture, click open image in new tab, then copy the url of the picture, and surround it with :D xx" alt="IMG] coding (without the space) and it will work from there too! :D xx" />

Awesome aren't they Lilty! Feel free to come and park your bum on them and stroke my lovely chairs anytime you like, cake and coffee will also be supplied :D

I won't even tell you about the rest of the loveliness they have in that shop then, it'll cost you money! It's a good job I live nowhere near it, although bad news their shipping is so reasonable... :o

Oh - and muchos jealous about the My Little Pony advent calendar... BUT have you seen the new version on TV?? WHAT have they done to them?? How have they pimped up my little ponies and made them slightly seedy??!?!
    I don't like.
