The Prankster was hatless. Isn't that against the rules?

I would say that fact would make it relevant as its an avenue the general ignorant public ought to be informed of so that 2% figure could multiply to be a far bigger thorn, pain, for the ppc scam industry. And just a little tiny mention of you lot on sites such as this wouldn't have been out of the way either. :)

But that's part of the problem. If they (C4) don't recognise/understand it, then they're never going to cover or publicise it. So nobody, other than those in the 'know' (as in 'us' and those we advise), will be any the wiser for it not being discussed.

One thing that did emerge from the programme was the news that the Consumers Association is getting involved. with the Beavis trial on the side of the defendant. Don't forget that the CA have bèen nominated by the government to act as a consumer champion and have some very clever lawyers who will be able to stand up to Parking Eye . The odds of Beavis of winning have just got much better.

Parking Prankster has now blogged about this.

So UKPC using incentive schemes is against the BPA code of practice

What are you going to do about that Mr Troy?

That'll be like nearly every PPC contract then
So will it be sanctions across the board or trebles all round at Haywards Heath ?

    Indeed.

The CA contacted counsel for both sides some time ago, stating that they wished to intervene in the case, due to the wider implications for consumers if the case went in favour of PE.

PE's legal team objected to the intervention, but the CA went ahead anyway and made a formal application to the Court of Appeal, which was granted by Sir Christopher Clarke LJ.

The CA lawyer won't be speaking at the hearing, but has submitted his own Skeleton Argument stating that, as a matter of public policy, companies should not be able to penalise consumers under the guise of 'commercial justification'.

This will now be taken into consideration by their Learned Lordships when they read all the submissions prior to the hearing.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

On a serious note I thought you came across very well. Succinct and clear points. Well done.

On another note I felt the programme was a bit crammed and could have done with longer but in fairness I guess the great viewing public aren't that interested until they get a ticket.

Well, I feel I've let the side down recently, I haven't done much towards defeating these scum but that programme has re-egnighted my fire.

Nice to see Parking Eye, UKPC and Met to be shown up as the scumbags they really are. Also rather satisfying to see Patrick Troy shown up as the slimeball he really is. And if Troy objects to that description I'm sure he can get my name from his rentboy David Smith given the muppet seems to like my LinkedIn profile.

  • What caused me concern was the fact stated in the program that Hospital Trusts of all people, are giving back all of the revenue to the PPCs. When the media bleats on about A&E and other shortages in the supposedly cash-strapped NHS, surely the hospitals would be keeping the money? Just what is a tax payer-funded Public Sector organization doing by funding these people?
