    Just condensing...
Just about to read and catch up, will then get orf my bum and do some work. The woofers are getting a looooooooooong walk today by me!
MiL is taking the kids out for the afternoon. DD wishes to do baking so I will ensure she looks up a recipe and takes the ingredients from here rather than MiL using a box of mix. My cupboards are stuffed!

Huge congratulations Kaz2904! Good luck, Rubies, with your application.

    Well done Bossy.

Ionafan, have you had your balance checked by the GP, and possibly even your bone density, while they're at it? If there anything concerning prevention is easier than dealing with the aftermath. I know dusk is tricky; I hate driving at that time of day, but still, that fall sounds nasty.

I'm going to carry on decluttering the outstanding sewing jobs from projects that I've started over the years. The two I cleared yesterday made me feel quite virtuous. I'm also going to wash the paintwork in one room which is another tadpole.

Dusty, decluttering photos was a real issue for me as I have boxes and boxes of them in the attic including large family ones from the 1930s. When I asked on this thread the consensus seemed to be to digitise them but I never got round to it. Very recently archives and internet boffins have said that may become a problem in the future which makes sense - I can't access my backed up files from the early computer days but they don't matter. The family photos would. They stay - along with the antique lace. That's what attics are for.

All the other stuff like unwanted gifts, expensive shoes that never get worn, and things that might be useful - if only I could find them when I need them - go. It's taken me 18 years to find the two bundles of sash cord we needed last time they were repaired but were buried under other useful carp. I suspect they've rotted to uselessness by now.

And finally, during your brilliant Room Rescue last year you were the one who reminded us that all of the best work on decluttering is done in the first 20 minutes, so I limit myself to 20 minutes now and that makes life much easier. If I can get two or three boxes out to the CS a week, I reckon it's a good week.
    Better is good enough.

    Thing to say...
Belated birthday wishes to Dusty, Mr E and (?Natty) and anyone else who I have missed out.
Iona, ouch, hope you are less squished soon x
Juliejim, your poor son! Horrible boys. Do you know the parents? I only ask as I would be worried that the parents wouldn't respond and then DS would be a target for those boys again IYSWIM?

I slept like the dead last night.. to avoid freezingness I went to bed in my fluffy dressing cake and fleece pjs.. Pixie was screaming her head off about 4am apparently.. I woke at 7am.. after falling asleep in my chair at 8:30 and going up to bed at midnight. I still hurt but am very hot today.. I really am a bit confuzzled about what is actually wrong.. my back hurts and I am feverish and asleep.. hardly symptoms of anything! I managed a bowl of soup last night.. it was the first things I'd eaten in a few days, I'm just drinking loads and loads.. I may be hydrated for the first time in forever! I do actually feel a little bit better today, if still in pain and hot.

Iona.. ouch.. that sounds quite traumatic, I hope you are feeling better and not too battered this morning xx

Banking sorted although it's taken we well over an hour! I've still got to put everything on the computer though but that will have to wait. Better put it all away now so I can see the LR floor again.

Two bags of stuff dropped at two CS.

25% school troussers bought for DS3 and a shirt I got for DH last week repurchased at reduced price.

WM1&2 on the line and about to see how much of 3 I can squeeae out there.

A mascara and lipstick binned earlier. I had completely forgotten about my 20minute tip HB so thanks for that. I'll do a bit more flying later when DS3 has a friend around.

I'm now sorting out the cupboard in the LR where I keep all the photos and the kids' memory boxes - mainly because the cupboard part is behind a chair and so is not in everyday use. I'm thinking of moving it in which case I'll change what's in it. I've thrown all my son's 1st birthday cards away - didn't even know I'd kept them!

  • Hoovered downstairs, sorted kitchen, done a load of washing and put shopping away when it came. Spent 2 hours with the kids sorting all their playmobil out...sorted into 16 sets and photos took so I can put on Facebook to sell

  • Morning everyone - I'm back! Have just caught up with thread.
JJ Hope your DS is ok.
    bossy Well done.
Kaz2904 Congratulations on the new job.
    Pigpen and Iona Healing vibes.

Dusty - great idea to do a half term challenge - I'll start tomorrow!
DS has arrived in London - we had a great few days and he decluttered his bedroom so we now have a pile for ch shop/selling, a pile to take to him next time we go down and room in the cupboards - with permission for me to consolidate them so I can at last clean inside them!
Now I am on a roll so need to get on but DH is off the rest of today - so I may just knit instead.

Slow cooker tips - have never done a joint but usually do stews where the meat/veg is covered by the cooking liquid - they are delicious. Will look in my books when clearing them out and post hints if I find them.

Catch up tomorrow - have a great rest of Tuesday.

Still not well, this particular cold is not nice. So, as the house is not looking too bad, I am giving myself a couple of days off.

DS2 is home from uni, lovely to have him back for a little while!

Sending get well vibes to pigpen and Ionafan and any other flyladies who need them.
