    Hiya everyone

Rubies - not sure on the slow-cooker as not tried joints but use for things with liquid iyswim. Have you tried looking on tinternet for recipe ??

Elastic - sure hope you're feeling a bit better tomorrow :)

    Bossy - well-done on the weight-loss

    Morning all
I want to declutter but I'm not sure where to start this time or if I'm really in the right frame of mind for it. I realise that I tick all those boxes which trip you up:

It might be useful - try to remember when you last used/wore/needed it. Start with say longer than a year and get rid of some of it

Somebody gave it to me as a gift - do you like/use/need it. If not then re-gift or cs

It cost a lot so it has value - same criteria as above and sell it

It has memories attached - do you need it or are the memories enough. Maybe halve what you are keeping and repeat in six months

Photos and Paperwork - I just don't seem to ever get to these - too hard to throw but too many to enjoy/need/file/store - leave for now and get the rest done. Put in boxes out of the way.

I am really a dreadful hoarder, especially the 'it might come in useful' type and books but decided enough was enough.

Don't know if any of this will be of help - I started with the easy stuff, which came off this thread of sorting the cutlery drawers. I then sorted all the kitchen cupboards - no real emotional ties in most of that for me.

I found this helped me to want to carry on as I now am doing. I expect I'll be at it for months - but it took years to accumulate and I suppose it's the old mantra of 'little and often'. I've also joined the declutter thread on here and that is quite motivating
    :D

    Morning All

Congratulations on the weightloss Bossy and the new job Kaz.

DS was ok last night - I'll see how he is this morning when he gets up. We know who it is as they used to live across the road from us. The younger brother who is still older than DS told his brother to punch him and kick him so he did. They were with a group of lads and DS was on his own - he was on his way home and his friends go in the opposite direction.

The LR is all cluttered up with my Scouting stuff so I need to at least sort it out a little bit and do my banking. Then I may be able to do some of the things on the list!

So far this morning I've washed some dishes - there are still a few more to do but the drainer was full. I'm just going to put the WM on then I'll do my banking ready to go to the bank some time this week.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

Congratulations Kaz2904 on the new job - when do you start?
Well done Bossy :j Not sure if I'm going to SW today or not, but I hope I'm still within target - I seem to have found the balance between good food and occasional treats. DH has all the good food too but is finding it very difficult to renounce chocolate and other sweet things and has put weight back on recently :(

Sorry to hear about your DS, juliejim. I hope the culprit gets his come-uppance.

I fitted everything I'd planned into my busy schedule yesterday and had two excellent meetings. However, between meetings, on our way from parking in the city centre to the pub where we were going to eat, I managed to have an argument with an uneven section of pavement and fell over. I put up my hand to prevent my head smashing on the ground and tried to cushion my glasses. Managed the first but my right lens was forced against my eye, though it did not break or even bend. Result: one very swollen face! First thing I did when we arrived at the pub was to ask for some ice in a tea-towel :rotfl: I then rang DH and asked him to catch the train to the city and come and drive us home because I could not see out of my right eye. All got home safely, thanks to DH :A

This morning I have a beautiful black eye developing with subtle shades of purple and yellow, and I am mostly keeping my right eye shut whilst typing as it's still too difficult to focus with both eyes for more than a minute or so. DSD1+2 are coming for tea tonight so I shall just have to play pirates with them!
 at myself for my carelessness. In my defence, it happened at dusk, which is when I can see least well. It is just over a year since I tripped over the wide square base of a slender round pillar in a dimly-lit church in Germany and tore the rotator cuff muscles in my right shoulder
  • Ouch Iona! Poor you that sounds really nasty. Hope the bruising fades soon and the pain goes from it. Take care today

Ouch Ionafan, gentle healing vibes for you. Off for a shower and to see what I can fling toiletry wise. I did get rid of old lipglosses and lipsticks yesterday.

    juliejim's DS
    Rubies interview outcome
    Ionafan's poor eye
    Bossy's award
    Kaz's new job

I have another day off work as my main job lady is poorly. I was informed by her DH that they were going away wed-sat for their anniversary unbeknown to her. I've planned to do stuff with the kids and now lady's DH is asking me to work Wednesday and Friday. I don't know him very well so don't feel I can tell him I've made other plans. I hate being messed about.

I shall continue with the decluttering ........
