    Morning elite,

Hope everyone is well. I'm starting 3 months of trying to live on just OHs wages so will be around here lots. I'm back to work after 15 months maternity mid-may and seriously wondering if I'll be able to manage it. I work very long shifts and unsociable hours and it is looking like work are being difficult regarding family friendly hours. My OH works away and I have no family near. Just dreading the day when my kids see neither their mum nor their dad in a day. Not acceptable in my eyes, they are still only babies and are so used to having me around.

The way I shop now will be a massive help so thanks to the elite for that. I'm not clued up on tax credits or benefits of any sort as we've never had anything like that. I'm assuming we still wouldn't be eligible if I gave up my job and apparently I'll struggle to get part time work there too. I've been there 12 years and giving it up would mean giving up a good pension, good wage and other benefits. But I just can't leave my children for days at a time, it seems like an impossible situation. Panicking a bit (lot). Any advice from others who have been in my situation welcome.

Thanks and have a lovely (mse) day :D

A quick google threw up this...

"Your rights when asking for child-friendly working hours
Can I ask to change my working hours?
If you need to change the hours you work because of childcare, you may have the right to request flexible working, and to have your request considered according to standard criteria.
You may also have a case of sex discrimination if your right to request flexible working is unreasonably refused.
This fact sheet explains how to request child-friendly working hours using the statutory procedure.
If your request is refused you should seek advice about whether you have a claim for compensation under the right to request flexible working and under sex discrimination law."

If you're in a union seek their advice before making any decisions.

    Good Luck :-)

Proposal to change TV licence into a household levy whether you watch TV or not.

Horrendous . why does BBC have monopoly on this. Sky couldn't come along and charge every household regardless or the freeview folks.

Antiquated old boys club and time it was gone.

I would actually vote for any party that promised this.

    X rant over

Seems voting didn't stop at 23.59 and Ruth could have carried on campaigning. :(

Thanks for all the lovely messages I have seen my lovely girl grow in confidence this week and reach out to people she would never have before. So every minute I spent campaigning was worth it to me. I am hoping this will give her a boost to get where she wants in life. :A

Couldn't have done it without the Elite, £2,500 of make up is not worth it. ;)

And yes you can thank me L'Oreal for the massive amount of time and free advertising I have given you last couple of weeks. :p

    Well done Ruth :T

    Muggle prices ;)
