simple as that
Now where was my baked potato recipe book ???
I think I leant it out .... Mrs Mac ? No she way better cook . AAU no ? He bakes
David ... No he's a beef man
FC ask DS2 he might remember ?! Oh maybe poppy ate it ?
Maybe it's under Ruth's make up bag ?
Or maybe Mrs 3dogs had it ? No I remember I leant it to Lookinforabargain who was getting Jelly to translate it into Spanish for Mildreds next trip.
Then she was bringing it back from Poland and Westie was going to photograph me a new front cover.
nannylala wrote the memo in it about Laura Ashley table cloths and Zagubov picked the tunes. To which Zippy took it to the pub on Friday to sample.
So then what happened ? VT was reclining on the chaise longue reading out loud to the Sarah's and the Claire's. DaveM was fixing the log fire and Nerfy was running around the pond with the kids.
TM and TS were comparing stashes of potatoes and ingredients, there was no shortage of beans and cheese. House Elf as ever sat back quietly and digested every move.
So where's my cook book now ??? Banana asks Hobbitjones
What was the question again ?!

Thanks Jelly, last night was so exciting and tense and the usual awkward post comes in and this was my reply. The thread is a bit of a soap opera at times

Another week and another birthday problem – this time its daughters BF and the present is going to be a real challenge. They live outside London and commute in. Recently they have started exploring London properly, not as a tourist which was what they were doing but really getting to know the place.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Morning all – I thought it was sunshining and snowing this morning but it was frost floating around in the wind! And then we had a full scale snow shower going sideways for about 5 mins
Another week and another birthday problem – this time its daughters BF and the present is going to be a real challenge.
BF has quite sophisticated tastes, has no idea what cheap and cheerful means, everything is high quality and high cost, he even has a £150 shirt  – his father joints owns a big national company so think six figure salary income, completely different world to the rest of us, no budgeting, no discount coupons or offers etc.
For Christmas I gave him a gift bag with some good quality travel cosmetics (I won these ) a thick brick of chocolate with almonds in – he has a very sweet tooth (I got this when we were away in Spain ) and a tiny build your own sportscar kit – so it ticked various boxes – thoughtful, practical, quality, luxurious, indulgent, fun, quirky and untraceable (no clues as to where everything had come from) - this is the level I want to aim at.
His likes – running, football - no idea what team and Fifa – nothing I know anything about.
They live outside London and commute in. Recently they have started exploring London properly, not as a tourist which was what they were doing but really getting to know the place. Eldest child is a Time Out fan and has been able to get cheap theatre tickets and eating out deals. I did wonder if I could expand on this theme.
I did think originally of getting Hi-Life membership or a Taste card but as they only socialise at weekends most of the offers don’t apply on Fridays and Saturdays. I even thought of getting a National Art Pass but this is now £90 for an annual double – not even sure if they would get full use of it. I don’t really know what his taste is in theatre so getting them tickets for a production is not an option.
I had a look at deal zippy for London but there are 29 pages to trawl through and I don’t know where to start.
I saw a KG deal – 3 course meal and film for 2 at place on/near London Bridge but it has to be used within 3 months and the films are only shown late on Sunday evenings so that was a non starter.
Amazon local has a Jamie Oliver meal offer – 3 courses –you can use it any day of the week and there is one in their home city, another in Union Street London and one in York so even with their schedule they could be able to use it before the expiry date. It’s not a very original idea though but it might be Ok for the goody bag option if I could think of other things to go with it.
Any suggestions pretty please – desperate as always!
mhoc, I live in London and am always up to something or the other.
Last weekend had friends staying from Devon and took them on the Ghost bus tour. I was shocked to see people paying the £21.50 ticket price on the night ( horrified actually)!
I paid half that per person on 365 and went through Quidco. Our friends said it was a great night out, it certainly was fun and you get to see places of interest and learn a bit more about London at the same time.
I've been on it twice so must be good.

Anyone still using their loop.
Went away for the weekend and turned the heating right down. It was interesting to see that the gas used dropped considerably but the electric hardly changed. I thought all our use of TVs, appliances, chargers, lights was significant - clearly not.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
