Seriously do not like people that just spend what they want on anything. We know a few millionaires through our work, and they are all frugal, one had a right set to with his phone company because he spotted a £2 overchargeI do see one or two higher end company bags around, but I also see a lot of Primark bags in their houses
I won a book from skint London last year so BF had this for his birthday last year - I think I need to upscale it a bit this year - not sure what his re action was to it
Yes he was brought up with no restrictions on money and only now is starting to get to grips with the real world - eldest child is seeing to this. He did work while he was at uni and managed to save quite a bit and then after uni he went back to live at home with his parents, no living costs, using mums car and his dad paid his phone bill - then eldest child and BF got their first flat - that was a huge chunk of reality for him.
Eldest child is quite savvy with money but not in all areas“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Another week and another birthday problem – this time its daughters BF and the present is going to be a real challenge.
BF has quite sophisticated tastes, has no idea what cheap and cheerful means, everything is high quality and high cost, he even has a £150 shirt  – his father joints owns a big national company so think six figure salary income, completely different world to the rest of us, no budgeting, no discount coupons or offers etc.
Any suggestions pretty please – desperate as always!
In a case like this I try to give them something their money cannot buy
How about a photo book of your DD childhood? Memories with annotations. Like she never was a good cook, she has always loved to clean, depending on your DD and photos available. Could start from a baby ie always liked her food .... And leave some spaces at the end of their own memories?
Depends how much you like the bloke :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: as to how much of the family you want him to feel.Pan drawers in 2016 £1500 needed.0 -
Good morning all
Well done to Ruth If the voting was dodgy I am sure it will be looked at as lots of the entrants will complain
Today is the first day of my new life, ie without a proper job The very nice GP gave me a fit note for two weeks and work has phoned all concerned asking what they can do resolve the matter!!!!
I am or will be fine and going to look for a wee part time job and i will chase the good gliches and add to my small stash :T:j:T
You will feel better with life more in your control. I'm off today but got assessment to start and complete.

I think a pair of cashmere socks or a nice scarf is always a good investment for anyone who likes higher end stuff. His and hers spa treatments? I'll keep my thinking cap on.Debt free 6th December 2014

I agree you are a nutter but a really lovely one Just bumping up for the day shift.
I agree the thread is like a family and possibly better than a lot of families Look at the support for Ruth and all the fab deals posted for us to share
I was reminded at the weekend by a rather strange man to enjoy life every day He was IMO too loud, sort of life and soul of the party type but I had to speak with him as we were at the same table He totally changed and his eyes clouded over and he told me about his wife's death 3 years ago He now tries to enjoy every day
I do think people are sent to us for a reason
TY Usually the loudest in the room has the most to hide. But he's right we should try and enjoy every day. Even if its just half an hour quiet time0 -

Glad to see Ruth got as high as she did, might even be a relief for TS with not having to hide her stash
This is the most apt description of this thread I have ever seen
I'm sorry I didn't include more the list is endless and everyone is important. :A0 -

Morning all
Ruth did amazingly well :T didn't you originally say you'd be happy if she made the first page TS?
Considering she's a young amateur and I think most of those up the top of the voting are professionals, she should be proud of herself :T
Your post did make me chuckle :rotfl: :T
I think I need to find this recipe book, apparently you've never lent it to me, Bubbs, LS or tiger
Although you could have lent it to Bubbs, it's probably still buried under a pile of hair dryers
Think I borrowed it from tiger in first place :rotfl:0
