I'm still here and keeping up with my payments a day. Just not had a chance to update my PAD everyday. First week back at work and school a bit mad haha.. But week two is up to £18.66 so far :)

My total PAD for this week is £40.09 just paid £40 off my CC leaving £2630 :D

Also had some money back that was owed to me (£100) I've given up on that so won't miss it! I'm making another payment of £130 :T to the CC to round it up to a nice £2500 what a result :money:

I'm itching to make bigger overpayment but will be keeping it very slow and steady as I need to build up my savings and also need to create various pots for the yearly bills, as I don't want to feel so skint and depressed as I've left myself in the last few months. Slow and steady will win the race :)

Had another bit of good news as hubby is also due an end of year bonus! It now looks likely that we will have CC1 clear by December like I originally planned! Just need to sit tight and chip away at it as much as we can until then and hopefully we would even have some money left over.. That would be the best Christmas present ever to be rid of the CC and with the car payments finishing next month we will be only left with 1 loan!!

A 9k loan but still fantastic news :j:money::beer:

Thank you guys I'm so happy :D still can't get complacent and need to keep chipping away at it! The bonuses should be about 2k in total so need to get rid of at least 500 and hopefully more by December (that's when the bonuses should be paid also) Xx

Things are ok here.. Doing week 4 of my PAD but smaller amounts as its coming up to the end of the month!

Also have a lot of spends coming up.... Car tax £130, car service which hubby sorting out (not sure how much yet!) and my sons football fees £120 arghhhhhhhhhhh... And then of course i have to start thinking about Christmas.

After the car is paid of next month I should have £204 "free" from Novembers salary which we can use for Christmas although we really wanted to start putting this money away towards a family holiday.

And I've not really managed to start saving on my annual spends pots yet.. I'm considering paying the car tax monthly as I heard there's new rules that come in which makes it non transferable if you sell the car. And it's only £11ish a month.

Also the house needs some sprucing up, we could do with new bedding and few other bits, this is all on hold for the moment..

The end of my CC1 is so near and yet so far! I have been thinking a lot about how it will be once it's paid off so excited!

The first thing that I will do is start working on a decent size emergency/anual expenses fund. I think this will have to be a priority as the only debt we would have is the loan which is on a good apr. I see a lot of people here with nice emergency funds and its inspired me.

And I know it's not strictly MSE but I will start putting money away for a family holiday too as our kids are getting older and soon enough wouldnt want to go on family holidays so we will make those memories while we can :)

So the timeline: Car paid off - next month :T CC1 paid off with the bonuses in 3 months :j

Then build emergency fund and chip away at the loan :A
  • All sounding very good!! It's so lovely to have a plan :D :T
