Not been checking in for a little while.. This month has really taken its toll on me emotionally and financially.
We went to the wedding last weekend and it was absolutely beautiful, I wore a necklace my nan gave me and I'm wearing one of her scarfs every day - it really brings me comfort
Payday tomorrow and it will be great to see the balances coming down again! I will also have to build up my savings back up from scratch as we will need money for the summer and new uniform for the kids. Also for my sons birthday, he has presents stashed away already but we want to take him for a family day out.
I recon I will be able to pay 200 extra towards CC this month and want to try and put 300 away in the savings. Will let you know how I get on!0 -
So upset re ebay
Well I finally had a bad experience after over 8 years of using ebay!! I sold the last mulberry bag I had to help pay towards my nans funeral costs (not that it matters what the money was used for but its like a double whammy!!!!) and now the buyer is claiming it is fake and have charged back my paypal account!!
Problem is I have sent all receips and authentications cards with it so dont have any proof anymore! I have called House of Fraser to see if my purchase was registered (as someone was able to obtain another receipt for her mulberry bag before) but no joy and the bag was bought 5 years ago.... But you can clearly see them in the pictures so hopefully the ebay will see that!!
This bag has gone for 250 pounds so its quite a large sum of money!
Ive spoken to ebay and responded to the buyer, but it looks like all i can do now is wait for the ebay to resolve the case which will take ages!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH0 -
I've posted about my ebay woes on the forum and had some good advice. Waiting now for the buyer to reply so nothing I can do at this point.
Been paid but not making any overpayments until my ebay issue is resolved. Amending my sig with the normal payments that due to come out though.
CC- £3,300 VS 6 months
Pay off date Dec 2015
Loan- £9,653 to tackle in 2016
After DFW I wanna be a MFW
My CC plan to be paid off by December is looking unlikely now! But I will hopefully be getting an end of year bonus so fingers crossed.0 -

The buyer has closed the case!! They took the bag to mulberry and had it authenticated. I'm really happy hopefully PayPal will unfreeze my account and that's the end of it. But I have well and truly swear off ebay now.. at least for the high value items. I didn't know but apparetly buyers have 180 days to get a refund through PayPal and usually ebay sides with the buyer even though it's the sellers who pay fees and end up out of pocket!
Anyway I'm happy happy today0 -
Well since my ebay case has been resolved I can go ahead and make £200 over payment now! Woooooooppp :j
I will try to save a further £300 towards various things coming up, but next month I hope to do it in reverse ie pay off £300 and save £200.... In any case next month my CC will be in 2xxx !!
Going from 3xxx to 2xxx seem to be the hardest milestone for me so far.. it seems that every month i had something or other come up (first it was doing up kids rooms/ then wedding/ funeral/ also my hoover broke and boiler broke.. thats at the top of my head, oh and of course i did spend some money booking activity for kids in the summer but i feel like this is a marathon for me so I do need to allow treats especially for kids in their summer hols).
But hopefully things will start looking up now and im learning to be in control of my money. Im already miles better than I was at the beginning of my journey and also learning what works for me and what doesnt.. in terms of scrimping and saving and how far I can push myself in denying treats and various things.
Anyway, here to a good MSE month - Fingers crossed!0 -
I'm having a quiet weekend, I think everything is slowly going back to normal now.. Have family round for Sunday lunch a bit later on and a few bits to do round the house/ take my DD to horseriding but other than that just chill and enjoy my Sunday.
This has been a low spend weekend and im not anticipating big spends this month so hopefully will manage to build up some savings towards the summer.
Luckily I have managed to sort out childcare for the summer already, me and hubby sharing annual leave and my mum helping us for two weeks. I will still need to pay my childminder monthly as I spread the cost over the year but at least no extra childcare costs this year. It usually costs up to 200 a week per child for the summer childcare!0 -
Glad you got everything sorted with the ebay case - I lost £400 on there one time from being scammed, it's horrible!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
MFW (08/08) £118k Gone (09/23)0 -

Thats so horrible you lost 400!! I feel so so lucky that the buyer was honest and once they authenicated the bag they closed the case (and so quickly too).
But there are things I never knew that they can claim their money back for 180 days and the paypal just takes it out - even before the official case is opened.
This has really made me very wary of selling through ebay again0 -
Well we had a really nice but very spendy weekend! I can't even begin to add it all up, a lot of it was unnecessary - I bought some clothes and we had a takeaway, also spend more than we should have on a family day out
Also my fish tank pump broke so needed replacing and my DS went to a friends bday party so had to buy a present. But also bought alcohol to have in the garden.. Which was lovely but unnecessary spend as I already had treats this weekend. Adding to that the usual weekend spends of food shop and kids activities and I'm about 150 down, maybe a bit more I've still not added it up
Two more weekends until payday and they will definitely be a NSD! No plans whatsoever just sun, garden and free free free free free free free free free free free free freee free freeeeeeee things argh..
Bad bad DFB350 -
Brave or stupid ... I have just made 300 over payment to the CC!!!!
I was keeping this 300 towards various things like uniform/ summer etc.. but have decided that it is highly unlikely something will come up in the next two weeks and I will keep some money back towards the above from the next pay
Soooooooooooo..... dum dum dum dum drum roll.....
I am in 2xxx!!
2,800 to be exact :money:
Now I dont have a choice but be very very good until pay day (and beyond of course).
Thinking most frugal thoughts :A0
