Who wants to have a giggle? :rotfl:
After one mahoooosive trip to the post office I did my calculations and all the postage came up to 26.38 (not including packaging as some i already had, but i guesstimate to have spent another 5-6 on top).
This is versus what i have charged 24.13! I think i was so worried about overcharging the postage that i have undercharged (ok not by much but still).
But the real giggle is one pop up basket went for 0.99 with 2.80 postage but it cost me 3.90 to post (not including packaging).. so I have paid them £0.11 to have it lol.. hopefully they'll be chuffed with it
I think I better add a little bit on top of the postage for my current listed items (as I have underestimated them too not to "catch up" with this lot = lesson learned!)0 -
My aim to clothe myself with good quality brands from ebay is not going so well.... part 2.......Got my hollister top size medium and its massive ! :rotfl:
Still waiting for my hoody and Barbour jacket to be deliveredI've not bought anything else and will probably give up after this lol.
Have a dilemma at work.. I've been asked to do a presentation and I'm really feeling uncomfortable about it
I'm seriously suffering with social anxiety and possibly depression but it's all undiagnosed as I've not been to the doctors as I'm able to function relatively normally on a day to day basis.
Social anxiety is something that I've always had and battled for years and if anything it's got a bit better from my teenage years.. Depression I've also had since my teens (involving suicidal thoughts, cutting, crying to sleep etc.. at my worst and just not being bothered and feeling quite difficult to motivate myself at my best).
I don't know what to do! I know if I do the presentation it's gonna be awful, I'm not the confident clear speaker! I don't know if I need to put myself through it! I wish they never asked me but no one else senior is available that day as I already askedBut I don't want to tell work about my issues and I've not been to the doctors apart from once in my teens.
Also do I need to go to the doctors, if I'm able to manage it myself? I don't know! When I started this diary my anxiety was bad but I feel a lot better now, however I still don't want to do this presentation! Arghhhhh :mad:0 -
How long is the presentation? Is it a subject that you know well? Is it the speaking in front of people that you are uncomfortable with? Could you delegate (call it training?)?
I have to give presentations frequently.. It's all about the preparation. Which bits don't you like?
Good presentations follow three rules 1. Tell them what you're going to tell them 2. Tell them 3. Tell them what you told them !!! Work out what your 'take home message' is and emphasise that. If you're really not up for doing a presentation though, can you delegate? Call it a training exercise if you can. Honestly though, most people really respect those who can stand up and talk in front of others, and sometimes once you start a presentation it becomes easier as you go through the slides. Use PowerPoint to prompt you if you can. Good luck xLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Thank you stepup.. I have done client meetings in the past and its horrible, before hand I literally feel like i cant speak.. like I would open my mouth but no words with come out, its really uncomfortableI am good at my job and I know the subject well but presenting to people I am really not good at!
I also go bright red and clammy seriously, I have watched a lot of presentations/ meetings and its very uncomfortable for the audience too if the speaker is uncomfortable isnt it? I dont want to be "that" speaker.. also I dont know if it can be overcome with practise, the meetings I had in the past were bad enough but 4 people maximum, in this one there will be more people maybe 10+.. I dont think I can do itI will try one more time to get out of it today, I mean it cant be good for the company either if I just freeze or freak out during it haha.. so embarrasing
Im sure it has a lot to do with social anxiety as Im not good in social situations either but at least if its not work related I can make an excuse and run for the exit0 -
Couple of recent MSE things I did
I have got tesco vouchers through so have doubled them up through boost, had 30 and turned it to 60! Then I used these vouchers to get birthday presents for my DS, I have paid just £3 for over £60 worth of stuff and he has 6 very good presents so far:beer: :money:
These are now safely stashed away until his birthday, still a few months to go but its good to be prepared! And he wont need much more, maybe one more "main" present (and more about that later...)
I will do the same with my vouchers in november (and they will be doubled up for christmas presents).
The only issue about DS upcoming birthday is that he is desparate for a hamster or a gerbil for his birthday and Im unsure about it! He literally keeps going on about it and how he will play with it etc.. My daughter had both a hamster and a gerbil and to be honest I am so over having those in the house argh... (they both passed away now and she was about his age when she got a hamster). so in my mind I feel its unfair that she has had an opportunity to own "her own" pet and my son now wants the same but Im reluctant!
But i really really dont want a smelly little thing in my house again, and I am fully aware that it will be me looking after it lol.. Will let you know what i decide... If i do I will get a rescue/ one from gumtree which is slightly older(like i did with daughters gerbils)
He is very good with guinea pigs may i add, and is a caring sweet boy so I dont know... a dilemma...
Another MSE thing Im doing - just got a house insurance through and its £28 a month - I am determined to get a better deal for it and want to pay it in full0 -

6 presents and more to come  Sometimes being MSE and having a LBM is bringing everyone on board and changing expectations..........even the little folk..........
Guinea pigs are fun - much better than nocturnal animals and could live outside. Maybe a share between DD and DS?Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

I know I knowbut maybe just one more especially since I only spent £3 on all his presents. He has been asking for a pet as his main present.
Other ideas are either a football shirt or tickets to football or an experiance of some kind- definitely no more toys
We already have guinea pigs *sigh*, they are lovely! But he wants a pet of his own to go in his room.. I know how its going to end as my daughter was the same and I had to take over the care. I thought maybe a compromise would be an older animal from rescue or gumtree so we can give it a good home but it wont last that long *shamed*0 -

I like your thinking! Many years ago my sister came home with an injured baby rabbit ( wild) My dad said 'Oh let her keep it. It wont last long'................15 years later my siblings and parents had moved to live abroad and it was left to me and my grandparents to look after it:rotfl: He was 17 when he finally 'hopped off' to the carrot field in the sky:eek:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

17?! :eek::eek:
DFB.. If speaking gives you that much anxiety then it's probably best to try and get someone else to do it - hope the company is sympathetic (hugs)LBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go
