my diary: time to step up to the plate. SPC#0790 -
Thank you guys, it means a lot xx
This sure has been a very very busy week at work and I'm home now recovering! Can't wait for my 3 day weekendit has officially begun!
I don't know if it's "normal" to feel so exhausted as I do everyday! But once the weekend is here or I have some time off work it goes away.. I am making sure to eat healthily etc.. And it can't be age surely as I'm only 31 lol!
This weekend plans : kids activities, then my son has a party to go to (these are never ending he has another next week)
Then my mum and dad in law coming round for Sunday dinner. I'm very pleased with my weekly shop as also got steaks for us 4 for Saturday and the weekly shop was £66.
Have a lovely 3 day weekend everyone!0 -
Been getting side tracked...and... Looking at things I shouldn't on eBay (v expensive bags)! Everytime I have money in my account I am itching to spend it and be naughty hahaha! Soooo I made an 250 over payment to my CC instead.. Still have 200 stashed for emergency (and my nan, although my mum is adamant she doesn't want me to contribute heavily as she says it's her and my uncles responsibility
) This way it removes temptation as the money isn't there and hopefully will create positive associations.
In other news, i finally met up with my sister today (who I fel out a few months ago) and had a good catch up and a cheeky McDonald's. Not spent much though. Looking at the accounts I'm on track with my spending for the rest of the month.
Hope all is well xx0 -
Looking at my sig yesterday I finally started to believe that I CAN do it
Yes I still get the spending urges but I've not relapsed and I'm winning the debt fight! I will be honest having that CC with the available credit is playing on my mind a lot.. But so far so good (and the credit card is safely hidden away and not in my purse, I have also taken out my CC that we do use occasionally for bigger spends but pay off in full as aiming not to use it from now on)
When I finally pay off my CC in December and I believe now that I can! It will be the first time the debt will be actually paid off and not moved from one place to another with a bit on top added each time. I can and I will do it :money:0 -
I had busy busy but lovely weekend! We went to the farm yesterday and saw Shaun the sheep (something I've booked awhile back). Kids enjoyed themselves, even the grumpy 13 year old who was pretending to be too cool had a good go at the trampolines and some of the rides and we all enjoyed seeing animals aww
Then had a lovely family pub meal, which was a bit pricey but so enjoyable and I think it's nice to have these treats now and again.
Family round for Sunday lunch today and been busy with housework and kids. Also listed 22(!) items on eBay will let you know how I get on. None of these are particularly high value.. I was inspired by a thread I've been reading.. So we will see! Well money is money
Back to work tomorrow!0 -
A little update on my stuff on eBay. Someone contacted me to offer buy it now for one of the items for a lot more than I expected to get for it(£10), the thing is there's a few of exactly the same item at the moment and they not seem to be selling well so I agreed
Two more of my things have a bid on and a few others have watchers. I will pop into pound shop for some posting supplies today (only need bubble wrap as have lots of bags and wrapping paper).
Another mini lightbulb moment for me as Ive decided instead of buying new cheap clothes from primark and such like, I will invest in good quality brands used from eBay only for a few of quid hopefully
Will let you know how much everything sells for, I'm up to 19.99 so far not including postage.0 -

Careful you dont get caught out breaching some obsure Eb*y rule!!

I have been buying top quality clothing and shoes on Eb*y and in Charity shops for years as I will not buy cheap throw away clothes on principle........I now have a large collection of shoes especially, which I am reselling for the same or very often MORE than I paid and I have worn them:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Thats the thing! I believe that good quality brands really hold their value well once you buy them second hand, so im certain I will be able to re sell them after im done with them (as long as look after their condition).
I have been watching a few things.. Superdry tshirts go for £6-£9 whereas brand new they cost £19.99 + (my daughter loves them so had as expensive presents in the past)
Superdry hoodies about the same £9 whereas brand new £40 + etc..
My aim now is to clothe myself exclusively from ebay - with good quality great condition stuff using the money I make selling my old stuff.
I will also be keeping an eye on brands that my DD loves for Christmas - will have a chat with her about using second hand/ pre loved clothes and see what she says. In any case I can pick up brand new with tag on ebay as well if shes not keen..
I am wary of getting a "new shopping addiction" though, especially knowing my obsessive behaviour trends.. So I will be operating a strict one in one out policy on clothes and I will keep a tally of what i sell VS what i buy..
My ebay sales so far £24.58 current bids with 5 items out of 21 due to be sold. And a few watchers on others - all due to finish on sunday evening (one item sold buy it now already).0 -

Lol so my aim to clothe myself not going so well hahahaha :rotfl:
I bought a lovely American apparel t shirt (£2) size medium and its tiny lol! It fitted my 13 year old 6st skinny daughter hahaha! Well she has pinched it now
I'm also waiting on Abercrombie hoody (£4.10), Barbour jacket (5.19) and a hollister top (£2.46) but now not sure if anything will fit me!! Well at least DD will be over the moon
My ebay sales up to £35.36 so far, finishing tomorrow0 -
More bids on my items it's quite exciting actually
I will list a few more tomorrow, interestingly the kids are getting involved too finding things they no longer need and asking me to list them, which is great!
On the budget front, we have overspend a bit this month, and I know exactly why/ when/ and what on and also made big overpayments this month too... But pay day is on Friday and I will try harder next month
Nothing major nor adding to the debts, just means I will have to transfer about 50 out of savings or be overdrawn for 4 days max..
And the ebay sales should cover most of it too, just with the bank transfer timings might not get there in time. I have £50 for food shop due to come out and £30 hubbys lunch spending money for the week (that's non negotiable  ). Also will need to pay to post the items that sell.
Otherwise we had a lovely quiet family day, skyped with my nan (my mum is out there keeping an eye on her). It's very nice to see her and talk to her while we can
Also did a bit of gardening and we found a frog (yuk) haha... Kids were very excited and we made a little pool for it in the shady leafy bit of the garden!0
