Well done on the overpayments and 0% card!

I have a question what is a Tilly tidy? :) Xx
  • Tilly tidies are where you take the odd pence from your account and OP it, or transfer it to savings.. So for instance if my account was at £27.53, I could Tilly tidy the 53p, or the £7.53, to take the account to a lovely round number. I like round numbers :rotfl: Tilly is a lady from the Mortgage Free Wannabe board. :)

DFOD: believe it!! The day is coming... :D

  • I love them too!! So motivating! And it's just money that otherwise I'd probably waste. I vary between paying it into my savings a/c and directly off the CC, but the plan is when I get paid to make a large payment from the savings to the CC. I am so determined to get rid of these cards ASAP!

  • Managed to list 13 items on the bay of fleas on Sunday.. So far it looks like I'm making a grand total of £3.97 :o which isn't go to pay off a lot, is it?! :rotfl: let's hope they get bid up over the rest of the week. I'm off work today supposedly, as DD has an inset day. Had to go into work for a meeting :( though and I've been on the phone a bit too, so I'll be claiming a few extra hours.

So the plan for the rest of the day is ironing, making sure DD has done all her homework, and checking the snowball to make sure I've covered all possible permutations :D:p::rotfl:

Oh and today's Tilly Tidy will be to my savings, just to make sure I'm not leaving myself too short for the month. £12 :T

  • I've been tweaking my spreadsheet to include percentages.. and this month I have paid off 3.5% of my CC1 :j and this doesn't include the extra payment I'm planning on making on Friday :j:j Very happy with that :D

    Hi all :hello:

A (minor) dilemma tonight; I logged into my accounts to check what I could Tilly Tidy - and ALL of my accounts are at round numbers :j This makes me very happy. So today's Tilly Tidy is £5 to CC1. A chq has arrived for a deposit for a 2 wk booking which is great! So as soon as that clears, 20% will be going into my ISA which I use for Christmas money and my tax bill, but the rest will be going straight off CC1. I'm so excited about it! Usually the money sits in my current account and gets !!!!!! away on groceries, or just on nothing in particular. From now on, the business will be working for me!! :D

It's been easier this month as we haven't had to pay council tax of course.. So I probably won't do as well after April, but hopefully Feb and March will be a really good start to kick off my debt free journey.
