  • Hello hello :hello:

Had lovely hols, and not too much chocolate, and haven't spent too much money :o I'll do a proper update money wise in a bit. The last couple of days I've been helping my aunt do some wedding flowers down in Bedfordshire. I like doing flowers, it's relaxing, although a bit of pressure if they're for a wedding! Holiday wise, the weather was good, and the trip through Spain was lovely. My dad let me drive the camper (his pride and joy, so he is very protective!) and I was fine, and all the wild flowers are in full bloom. It was a beautiful drive.

Back to reality now, although the weather is still wonderful! Have been gardening this morning, much to the chickens' delight, and the dog has been picked up from kennels. Added to that: homework, housework, food shopping, washing, ironing, going through the pile of post, delivering flowers and thank you cards to chicken sitters, mowing lawns... I'm going to deserve my glass of wine tonight!

    xx

    Yayyy!!!

Welcome back. I am so glad you had a lovely time and your dad trusted you with his pride and joy and you subsequently did not smash it up :o :rotfl:

    We missed you!! :)

I used to love my chickens chasing me around the garden when I got the spade to turn over some earth for them. They loved scratching and digging around for worms :) thank you for the pleasant reminder, as I had forgotten they were like that!!

The flower arrangement is stunning, really beautiful!! You and your aunt are very talented!! xx

    Welcome back Stepup. :)

Sounds like you had a lovely time.
The flower arrangements are beautiful too, you're very talented. My Mum is brilliant at flower arranging too, a talent which is lost on me. :o

  • awww thanks everyone for the kind comments :p

Not too much to report here, except that it's payday tomorrow :j:j and it looks like I'll get my little bonus, which I'm very grateful for. I've only been in post since July so it's not the full bonus, but it'll still take a chunk out of CC1 so it's all good. And I'm going to see how the budget looks tomorrow and then make a larger OP as well. I'm wondering if I can get it into the 4s this month... :D if not this week then when I get the holiday let money. I'll be SO pleased if I can. I was feeling a little like I'd lost my OP mojo, but then when I added up the OPs this month compared to last month, actually I've done alright. I do miss doing the Tilly Tidies everyday though, so I might go back to doing a little and often, as opposed to the larger less frequent ones.

We had a rook come down our chimney yesterday  there's soot everywhere.. luckily it's not as bad as it could have been; I heard it up there, and noticed a bit of soot, so I taped up the hearth. When the bird eventually landed at the bottom it was trapped so couldn't fly around the room until I let it out, armed with a tea towel ;) Even so, the room smells very sooty. I've been wiping and hoovering and wiping again. It'll take a while to get it all I think :(

Back to earth at work with a bump - a request for references from one of my team - and not the one I thought would be the next to go. A shame, as he's good, but probably the best move for him.

Hope everyone is OK, it seems quiet on here tonight. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather xx

A rook!!! well you are a braver woman than I. I always get pigeons coming in through the bathroom window and I just open it wide while they sit there, remove all the stuff from the windowsill and have stern words with them about pooing, then leave :rotfl: - I had a little blue tit in my bedroom last year as well, and his mate was fluttering like a mad thing outside the window. There was only a gap of a couple of inches too so he must have landed then climbed in and been stuck! Again, I opened the window while he hovered above me, and out he went, although I had to flap at his mate first as she was on her way in!

Yay for bonus!! I have to wait until the 28th for mine.. 2 weeks boo hiss!

Sorry for quiet. Don't feel good xxx

  • Another beautiful spring day here, hope that the sun is shining whereever you are.

More progress made to CC1, and sig duly updated. I'm planning on making a larger OP at the end of the month all being well. Can't stop looking at the spreadsheet, I'm very sad!

I did more wedding flowers yesterday, so when I get paid for those (in 2 weeks when they are back from honeymoon) I'll pay that straight off the card too.

Daughter has gone to a party today til 4pm, and DH is out playing Robin Hood (he goes to archery on a Sat morning). So a couple of hours of peace. I think once I've finished here I need to go and finish weeding the garden in the holiday let (no-one in it this weekend). I'm sooo tired though. Might just have a kip instead! ;)

    xx

Holiday let?!? Where are you? ;) I need a holiday... :p

Hope you manage a nice peaceful couple of hours whatever you decided to do. Kips are good!

P.S I bought YNAB and spend all day looking at it and justify it by the fact I spent money on it so I ought to use it! :D

  • I've sent you a pm, Lilty :D

I've had a lazy couple of hours on the sofa :) it feels very self indulgent. Let me know how you're finding YNAB.. It sounds a bit complicated, and I do like my simple spreadsheet. I do like the idea of giving every penny a job though. Might watch some YouTube about it and see. How is Jelly today? Xx
