After a new PC (just the base unit needed)

I'm after a new PC, just a base unit/tower is needed.
Would be used for emails, doing word documents, playing web based games and games from the Championship Manager series like 01/02, 03/04, CM 4 CM 10, Football Manager 5 and some of the first GTA.
What I have just listed I imagine I would have to use a virtual machine.
Budget wise £300 but can spend more and which Operating would you suggest ? I'd like it to last a number of years, what would everyone recommend.
Have checked there's a Win 7/Win 8 update for the printer.
Forgot to say would need a DVD drive for writing music to disc and playing music.

Thanks I'll take a look.
One I could add to would be a good idea eg add extra ram at some point in the future0 -
most of the ones listed in that posting were pre manufactured , and built to a price , in a lot of cases using non modifiable cases , and with motherboards/mem configuration that is limited.
the one at scan uses a std PC case that can accept std accessories , and a fast Asus board that has not had the bios stripped for the pc maker ,
I like the g3220 processor , it runs rings around a Celeron , I would imagine that scan would upgrade the memory to 8g for an extra £300 -
Here is a G3220 from Lenovo, for £199 after £30 cashback and comes with both W7 pro and W8.1 pro.

the trade in , seems to be for business users only , and after jumping thru hoops , you have to pay for the postage of your old computer to them..
if I am wrong (and the qualifying products page does not work?) , please correct me
having said that , its only got a small hard drive (by todays standards) and the case has no capacity for addons (card readers / extra usb 3 ports)0 -

I assume you are referring to me as you have not quoted anyone.
1) It's not a trade-in, it's a direct cashback offer you claim from Lenovo after 30 days from invoice and no later than 60 days. Part time business cleaning windows
Claim here:
https://lenovo-offers.com/business
2 ) It has an SD card reader built in
3 ) It's very well put together and very quiet, I've done a couple of these for friends.
4 ) For that price whack an SSD in it, it's the best upgrade you can make
5) For £200 you are not going to get a Bentley but you are getting good value for money.
6 ) Even if you don't claim the cashback , it's still good at £229. Too bad you missed the boat these were £189 after cashback a couple of weeks ago.
7 ) Next time I won't bother, I'm not getting paid.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
A bit left-field but if not needed for modern games and would like it to last I'd get the best CPU you can afford...

This is about £286 (after cashback) and has Windows7 preloaded. Case/motherboard may be a bit old/not very upgradeable. But CPU is about 2x speed of the G3220.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
