I guess the colours is a no no for you, other than that it's a sound car, one of the last off the production line before they shut up shop.

from what I have read and understood, if you have legal cover and you are not at fault, you can claim the loss of your no claims bonus, and increased policy premiums for about 5 years too.

If you are not at fault the third party pay out and you keep your ncb anyway

Yes, but your premiums still go up. :(
  • That seems a little harsh on the 'victim', bluesnake.
Is that a FACT that my premiums will go up despite the fact that I had no-say in the accident?
I will add it to my list of 'claim for this...' list which includes such things as unexpired road tax, 3/4 tank of diesel etc.... and see how it goes. ;-)

Well... I feel sick in my stomach. :-(
I have just discovered that my car was out of MOT ( July 2014 ). I was able to tax it in May, obviously and now... no MOT.
I was filling out forms for transferring my personal reg number.
But I fear that being unable to do that, because of the lack of MOT, is least of my worries!
    So...
Driving without MOT.. does it make my insurance invalid?
    # therefore was I driving without insurance?
    # will a charge arise?
    # can truck firm insurance fail to pay out?
    Sh#t ! I feel rotten inside.... :-(
    Bl##dy hell. :-(

It's only bent metal. As long as the other driver wasn't injured too much (he could have whiplash).
A few years in jail and then you'll be free again.

Seriously, though, your worry really is
1)Was the truck driver injured or could he claim to be injured?
    2)Was the truck damaged?
  • no, truck was totally ok and the driver, just a glancing blow took me off the road...
