Been busy last 2 days with DS but managed to order
office stuff £200 new desk and storage
washing machine and fridge £489 with cashback of around £10 and a voucher of the total before 489 of £30 so happy with that
2 small oak side boards for dining room £250
1 large oak side board £200 was £380 down to 240 and then an extra 20% off :]
Tv stand - £50 was 60 but had a £10 voucher
So saved around £120 or so off the face value of stuff :] so anything i save like this i will overpay once the house more or less done

Just bought a fireplace for the dining room I was going to wait for this as its not an essential but the one i liked was £280 managed to get it today for £203 inc delivery After a 10% discount and cashback it was up for £240
so technically a £ 37 saving :beer:

Quick update from me
First mortgage payment has come out on the remortgage Not come off the balance yet tho
Currys where 4 hours early today :] fridge freezer +washing machine
Argos was 3 hours late haha 2 small sideboards for dining room

my rate is now 2.44 % average around 3% on my 15k EF

Some bedroom furniture bought for me and DS
£341 paid after saving massive £83 + 2% cashback
So All the big furniture is ordered now Bar a few things ill get after im in
Spent a total of £1754 on the bigger stuff i needed
Budget was £2000 so saved myself £246 This will be used for stuff as you can imagine but not big things
Saved from face value with voucher codes £240 :eek: + £25 in vouchers to spend
Plan now is
Wait for delivery's i got 7 this week so if they all go well it will be a miracle wish me luck haha

Going great guns and excellent savings on those purchases.
On the 2.44% mortgage rate vs. 3% gross savings rate... at the moment after tax (20%) savings rate comes down to 2.4%, so it's 0.04% higher interest on the mortgage.
But, April next year, I believe savings can earn up to £1,000 interest tax free so you could get the full 3% if it's under that figure (total interest across all savings I believe). Have a search here on MSE as there are articles on it.
