No, it's still onStill displayed. It expires at the end of this month but will no doubt stay there until whenever I decide to remove it.
"Still on, may replace them with facsimiles for the month / year of first registration one day for that brand new car feeling."
Done that with my Morris Minor. It now displays a Feb 1963 disc with all the correct duty and taxation office stamp printed thereon!0 -
Yes, I've taken it off
What about all the people that had to renew from last October when the new changes happened, do you think they all kept the old tax disc on?londonTiger wrote: »i was probably the first person to take mine in my area because my renewal was for 1st April.0 -
Yes, I've taken it offMine came straight off on the 1st October. I hate any clutter on a windscreen. I got a good laugh out of a nosy neighbour who accused me of driving untaxed ... he looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up when I told him about the changes.

Yes, I've taken it offI mentioned this at coffee break at work and quite few people hadn't a clue what we were talking about and several thought it was a wind-up.
All of the doubters have still to renew their VED since the change.
One woman asked if it was an early April Fool joke.
It's amazing how much stuff goes straight over some folks heads.0 -
No, it's still onI made these up, but still have my old tax disc actually on the car.

Mine's till there.
When using a pay & display carpark, one son likes to put the ticket in the holder...
So far, not been scolded for failing to display!
Don't really want to take it off - what will I do with all those very expensive albeit redundant bits of paper? There are only so many "unusual" A4 ringbinders I can carry.0 -
No, it's still onMine is still valid till the end of the month then it will go when I remember.
It will be stored with the others from when the car was new. Some dated 28/02 and some 29/02£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

i 5thought the changeover was from April 2014.
It cant be from October because I renew my tax disc every 6 months and I had my November 2014 tax disc sent.0 -

I presume the latter is for when you are in an accident - maybe you can avoid accidents by removing the tax disc holder so it opens up your view - I know it probably improves your vision by 1.5% or something. But every little helps. Perhaps it will prvent you from turning a cyclist into tomato sauce.0
