Just to clarify, the confirmation is given on screen when you submit the meter reading0 -
Thanks, yes I saw that but i'd read of users in general submitting readings to suppliers (not zog) and they not going though so just wanted to check to confirm they received.

When your transfer happens, your meter reading is passed to a third independent industry partner for verification. As you have provided a meter reading in advance of the transfer date, then it is likely to be adjusted by the Data Collectors. The estimated reading will be used to open and close your accounts. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi, I got a email requesting a reading,,, should I provide one on the day of the reading?

I wouldn't bother or worry about it. Most suppliers ask for a meter reading in the 5 days up to the date of the transfer. The verification system takes anything from a week to 15 days. I provided one last year on the day of the transfer and the estimated reading was 100 cubic metres out in the old supplier's favour. I suspect the reading that I provided got lost but the system just did its thing. The estimated reading was still within industry limits, so I just paid the new supplier standing charges for three months. The cost difference was £2. On all my other switches, the estimated reading was within 5 kWhs of the reading that I provided. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi,
ok - many thanks, first time doing this so unsure. My new electiricy supplier requested a reading also so i provided that also at the same time.
Both my Gas and electric are due to switch this weekend.

Update
Well I believe the switch happened yesterday, not received any confirmation, I just checked BG and my Gas account is still open, unlike my Elec which was closed immediately the other supplier took over it seems.
Should I get a email to acknowledge the switch took place? I Owe BG approx £37 + whatever my usage is up til end of Saturday, any idea on time frame of when I get a bill?
Thanks

Another update to their best value Mercury 12 tariff.
Appears to be a small reduction in unit costs across the board, but an increase in daily standing charges affecting East, East Midlands, West Midlands, London & North Scotland supply regions.0
