Most suppliers do provide PDF bills: that said, some have to be downloaded from an online account. As Zog doesn't have an online account, it sends statements out by e-mail.

Looks like Zog Energy have just introduced an updated Mercury 12 tariff
    - slightly cheaper than what it replaces :)

    Edit:
Maybe I should have worded it like an MSE reporter would?

Zog Energy have reduced their best value Mercury 12 tariff still further, slashing around another 3% off the unit price whilst maintaining their competitive daily standing charge.

I would also suggest that you do a Cheap Energy Club comparison now and see how much you can save!
(but there's no money in it for MSE as they can't switch you to Zog i.e. no cashback for you either)

Edit 2: Mercury 24 tariff reduced too

I think that it shows that people have been panicked into fixing when it is only electricity costs that have risen exponentially because of the extraordinary rise in Govt-imposed social and economic costs. My gas costs less today than it did 2 years ago. I confess that following this reduction in prices I am tempted to switch my gas back to Zog as their CS and billing have always been first-class.

I set my switch for Saturn because I had a feeling Zog would start to push prices down again once these fluctuations were over. Looks like I was right! It hasn't kicked in yet, but I'm glad I did so I can see if it drops any more before I settle on another Zog fix.

They really are a top notch supplier.

    Hi all,

Considering switching to zog, does anyone know if the switch date can be a Saturday or does it need to be a weekday?

Also is it worth switching to 24 moth plan or 12 month? Never switched providers before so unsure if energy will go up or down in price...

    Thanks

    Kev

You are confusing application to switch and the transfer of your supply. You can initiate a switch on any day of the week. The supplier then has 35 days from receipt of your request to switch to action the transfer. My gas transferred on a Bank Holiday last year.

FWiW, gas is pretty stable at the moment - indeed it has just fallen. Long term switches are more usually linked to rising prices.

    Hi Hengus,

Thanks for that, I was hoping to ask for the transfer of supply to happen on a particular day as I'm sure i read on here you could say i want it to transfer supply on x date but that was a much older thread so maybe that's changed.

    Thanks

Can I ask why? You are more likely to create problems with the transfer if you do. The difference in cost is likely to be in pence not £s.

As Zog has just adjusted its prices, you could initiate a switch 17 days before the transfer date that you are looking for. Based on my experience of Zog they are pretty good at actioning switches. Note: the switch cannot happen in the first 14 days and provided the losing supplier is notified within less than 20 days after the end of you present tariff, you will stay on those tariff terms.

    Hi,

Mainly because of work, I want to ensure I can provide the readings as required.

I thought when you switch energy suppliers, i thought new supplier is responsible for contacting old supplier and dealing with the transfer etc and that the old supplier would just contact me advising how much I owed themor they owed me? Do I need to contact my existing supplier too? Do zog inform my exising supplier of meter readings or do I need to do that?

I'm currently on BG standard tarrif so no tie in, can move any time, fee to pay etc... I just been waiting to get annual statement to have an idea of usage and got that in December so been looking over the markets on and off trying to decide who to go with.

My only concern with Zog is no phone number so if any problems, i'm soley relying on email and what if the company folds etc...

From all the reviews i've read it seems they are pretty good and have been goign I thik 3-4 years? so due to the lack of issues and most people being happy with them, i'm pretty sure i'll give them a go, probably sign up for the 24 month tarrif as most energy companies putting prices up, might be an idea to lock in now for 2 years and hopefully benefit from it. Also I read on here I think someone said zog were looking to also supply electricity in 2018/19 so maybe they will do it by the time my term expires and hopefully i can go wit them for both.
Just need to contact them and find out what my monthly payments will be as I read somewhere they will charge a bit more if sign up in winter months to ensure you don't go into a negative after short time with them.

Was hoping to get smart meter with BG but i been on the register your interest list now for 6 months and no sign of it so i think i'll forget about that and wait till the new meters come out whereby they not limited to that supplier only etc. Like the idea of it submitting readings automatically plus the ability to monitor usage etc.

I'm currently thinking I will go with SSE for electricity, prices are not too bad for me,

    Kev
