After years of apathy about energy suppliers, I took MSE's advice and switched. The projected saving from GB Energy looked good so I took the plunge. I've been with them for 6 months, minor administrative glitches from day 1, though nothing worth losing sleep over. They recently emailed to inform me they're changing the price I pay (though failed to attach any details). I've contacted them twice asking for these details and no response. Another email this morning informing me they're planning to change the amount of my monthly direct debit, ".....because this amount is currently too much or too little based on your forecast energy consumption" (I'm guessing it'll be the latter!) Again no details attached. The number of posts by customers on the Facebook site would indicate I'm not the only customer who's less than happy with GB Energy's approach to customer care.:(0

What mail programme do you use? I use Gmail downloaded to Microsoft Mail. When the email re the DD change was downloaded the attachment was not there but when I went to Gmail I could see the attachment and view it.The best things in life are free.....0 -
I switched to GB energy a month ago. They have still not contacted my previous supplier with my terminal readings. I have tried to contact GB energy by phone on five occasions, each call lasting 30 minutes with no response. I have tried their online messaging with no response. I am now going to switch to someone else as this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.0

In the same boat, transfer from EON has never taken place and they ignore emails and twitter messages. They were quick to take the first debit card payment.
So if I go to new supplier do I tell them Eon or GBenergy are my current supplier and how do I get the debit payment back.
What if GBenergy do the transfer before the new supplier does.0 -

Awful experience with GB Energy Supply.
I applied to switch both gas and elec on August 11th. The gas has still not switched due to an error on their part. I tried to tell them something was up, but they fobbed me off.
On October 4th, they finally admitted they had made a mistake and promised to get the gas supply sorted for Oct 19th - their own deadline, not mine. Someone would contact me to take a meter reading and confirm all was well on that date. They did not.
October 20th, I spent an hour on hold, to be told that my switch is sitting with head office. I assume it is still sat there. Nobody has made any attempt to get in touch with me.
I have sent several messages via their online webform - these are just ignored. I sent a message via Resolver, and I got an autoresponse saying they would not respond to that address and that it all must go through the webform. People at Resolver told me that GB Energy Supply are ignoring anything from Resolver, as it is a third party. Does that mean they would ignore lawyers and the ombudsman too?!
The most frustrating part is just being fobbed off, but I get the feeling the problems are higher up the chain, not with the customer service team - they have been friendly and as helpful as they can, but their hands are tied, it seems.
It sort of makes me feel better that it isn't just me having problems, and I'm switching away from them now.0 -
Had an account with them and switched in August, got a final bill which was £102 in credit, not had a thing back from them.
I phoned them up and they said not to worry (I had cancelled the DD) they will send it to me, but not a thing.
Anyway switched away in August, and have just switched again today, so may have the same problem again shortly.Living in supposedly sunny Kent

I logged into the MSE energy saving club today as I am so fed up with GB Energy that even though I am on a good rate their service is just abysmal I am thinking of moving.
Who is responsible for updating the "reviews" of GB energy on the Savings club page?
Just that they show:
Latest poll rating: 75% great, 9% poor (166 votes)
Very misleading as reading the recent posts on this thread and on their FB page there are very many unhappy customers. The best things in life are free.....0 -
OMG!!!! I am now furious with GB Energy Supply.
I just got off the phone to my previous supplier - they told me that they received closing meter readings from my new supplier. GB Energy Supply gave my previous supplier INCORRECT METER READINGS. Surely this is not legal?!0
