GB Energy Supply reviews: Give your feedback

Received postal confirmation this morning. Still no mention of any login details. I am now officially in the cooling off period. Their postal blurb assures me that they are working hard behind the scenes to make the switch go smoothly. We will see.0

I switched back in October and delighted so far. Transfer was simple and I had no issues. Since then meter readings every month have been easy to submit and bills emailed out every month. I'm saving more than I expected and have a better understanding of energy used as statements available either from email or online.0

We joined GB Energy in November after realising we would be paying a fortune with EDF after we recently moved into new rented accommodation in August.
The switch was smooth and GBEnergy are ace. We are paying a combined regular direct debit for electric and gas of £28 per month on a 2 bedroom house and all we have to do is give a regular metre reading. The website works and if there are problems I can always get through to customer services if I don't call in the evening (ie lunchbreaks!).
So glad I found these guys we are saving bags of money! :money:0 -
Switch of electricity went through no problem, but if you have any queries they never reply to emails. Now moved to e.on, with the £15 e.on rewards comes in cheaper than GB energy supply and always reply to emails within 24 hours.
GB may be cheap but customer service seems to be lacking.0 -
I switched on 30/1 but cancelled during cooling off period in order to go on a collective switch. No response to email so phoned and eventually spoke to someone. Still no confirmation though, and still no response to email ortwitter requests to confirm cancellation.0

Coming to the end of my EON V14 fix I was alerted to a better deal at GB Energy (their Emerald fix), and initiated the switch in late 2015. I was slightly perturbed at the ‘upfront’ direct debit but figured at least they were being honest about it.
It took more than 2 months to switch, and because of GB's 'upfront' debiting I ended up paying both suppliers for these 2 months (£107 a month against consumption of around £37). Contacting GB was a nightmare, as emails went unanswered and although their phone numbers are 0800 (which is good) it took forever to get through. Their website is an absolute joke and offers little by way of functionality.
In my experience they are utterly incompetent and while I am no great fan of EON my business is already heading back in their direction.

I joined GB Energy last summer and have not been enthused by their service and non functioning website. I decided to switch to another supplier last November and waited for the switch to go through. This finally happened on 17th December and the battle to get a refund began. I waited till the final bill came on Jan 20th and i duly phoned them to ask about a refund. I spoke to an adviser who told me a refund had already been issued and sent. I waited until yesterday 9th Feb and not having received anything I decided to phone them again. I was told that a refund had been issued on 19th Jan and should already have been in my bank account. I said that it was not so she promised that she look into it and call me back. I waited 24 hours and rang back again. This time i spoke to an adviser who told me that there had been an error in the accounts dept and i would have to wait up to another 14 days to receive my refund. At the best of times they don't know what they are doing and i am glad i am no longer a customer. Here's hoping i get my refund in the next 14 days.0

I have been with GB Energy since last summer and I agree their customer service is poor - but their prices are very good so I was very surprised when MSE said 'Hurrah you could have saved £135' with British Gas. British Gas is 4.25p per day dearer on standing charge and 1.1 per Kw dearer for electricity. They would also be dearer on gas with 8.4p extra per day and 0.45 per Kw. How would paying so much more save me £135?0

No longer a GB customer* but it looks like they have cut their prices again.
(nothing against them - just got a better deal elsewhere at the time)0 -
Can someone tell me how GB energy arrange access to their on-line accounts?
Do they send your login details via email or post, or what?0
