Now that you mention it yes, I used to sell a lot more to Australia. Even my regulars have abandoned me!

I hadn't realised, but we haven't sold anything to Australia for ages

Just a quick question and one that I think fits on this thread. Has anyone noticed a downturn in sales to Australia?

Australia used to be a very big market for me, then when postage went up considerably a couple of years or so back it dropped quite a bit, but I still had a few regular sales. More recently I don't seem to be getting any Australian sales at all

I've never paid extra for any visibility and my listings still show Australian
    postage

I've sold a couple of items to Australia over the last month!

There is already a thread on the boards where some sellers are saying this seems worse than Christmas with buyers buying today and expecting their goods guaranteed for tomorrow. There is a woman on one of my Facebook selling groups as well wanting a customised cake made to he delivered tomorrow for her new bloke !

I have one I am concerned about. Bought an item from me yesterday afternoon with 1 day dispatch 2nd class post and sent a message just saying 'my bf will love this and it will be the best valentine present ever!'. I sent it today 2nd class and am determined just not to worry about it. I'm fed up of buyers expecting free upgrades when they can't be bothered to order things in time.

I would refund and cancel transaction with reason "problem with buyers address". you should get an instant refund on FVF and no defect.

Message buyer and explain you cannot guarantee delivery.

I would consider removing time sensitive items like that from your shop a few days beforehand, as some buyers seem to think their tardiness in placing an order is the sellers problem.

I remove all CHristmas things from my shop a few days before the last post for second class - saves unnecessary hassle.

I closed all my Christmas items a week before Christmas, but then noticed other sellers didn't, and some are still selling Christmas items now

I meant to end the Valentines cards, but forgot. I can't believe anyone actually believes that they can order at 10.30 pm and expect delivery the next day.

  • As a buyer, I'm less than impressed with this new Global shipping thing. Postage to Spain was already getting rather expensive, now even the smallest item costs £11 or more. It's now less and less economical to order from abroad.

My items are still the same price, postage wise, as before as I send direct- not via the GPS system.

I sold a dress yesterday, with second class postage.

Customer paid within a couple of hours, so parcelled it up, and it's ready to go.

I've just this minute had a message from the buyer, asking for it to be sent first class as she wants it by Wednesday.

Normally, I've posted my parcels by this time on a Monday, so I'm very tempted to say that the parcel has already gone.

But I want to moan about

A). The subtle pressure customers put you under, even though it's something that they haven't paid for.

B). The rudeness of the buyer. Why didn't she ask yesterday, before she had paid. I could have sent her an invoice for 1st class postage.

I know it's only 40p, but it's the principle of the thing.

...had gone on this forum subject instead! ;-)
But seriously in a way all we CAN do about eBay is moan because they call the shots and there is no real recourse!

I'm STILL a member though so I can't really moan!
