180 days for a refund through Paypal is ridiculous. Recently sold a tablet + accessories for £1k and I can't be 100% sure that money is mine until the end of August... I have no reason to expect a refund but that's not the sort of money I can risk just being ripped out from under me. >.<

What sort of tablet sells for a grand? Was it bought by someone abroad for someone as a present and to send it to Africa or somewhere.

A very high end, only 6 month old laptop replacement tablet with accessories. And no, I was fortunate to get a UK bidder with good feedback. I just wish I didn't have to have it in the back of my head for the next 180~ days.

Care to name this "high end replacement tablet with accessories"

Two new 'requests' for items not received, both posted in same package. Contacted buyer and explained that I NE had two shiny new defects and he was horrified. He only wanted to confirm they had been posted and what could he do to cancel. Answer, absolutely nothing.

I had one of those recently, opened INR to ask when item was delivered as was 1 day over the estimated date. Assume it's arrived as over 8 days but defect still stays!

I wonder if the people that make up the defect systems have actually used ebay to buy and sell?

Score between 1 star and 5 stars where the average is 4.8? Whose calculator came up with that one?

A buyer asking a simple question of when was it posted so they have a clue what day the item may arrive gives a seller a defect?

I had a lovely positive from a buyer that rarely leaves feedback and has a possibly higher than average number of neutrals and negs left when he does (all against positive comments).

One of the negs he left says 'good seller item came quickly, v happy' and that is basically what he left me as well.

Now 2 weeks later my seller dashbaord shows he actually left me a 1* for item description.

I email buyer and he confirms he made a mistake and it should be 5*.

Get on the phone to ebay who say they understand my concern and note buyer confirms it was an accident, but as ti was left against a positive feedback it must have been buyers opinion at the time, ie two weeks ago- and it is not subject to removal.

When I questioned how they intended to hang on to their sellers when we are penalised for a stupid buyer not understanding the system I was told it was all good as my account could easily take the defect. As I pointed out to him the last two were also 'accidents' according to the buyers and if my rate of accidental poor stars was average across all sellers then smaller sellers don't stand a chance. His response 'you must just be unlucky' as other sellers are not reporting this accidents.

Oh, so that's OK then is it?

Just an update on this one, my defect has disappeared !

I had the usual 'we have protected your seller account' email from eBay, the one we all snigger at for being useless, and then 2 days later wham, no defect.

    Very strange

Just for info, I did use the report a buyer option to state that I thought this buyer was leaving malicious defects - whether I really was right or not I'll never know

My gripe for the day is that a buyer who bought an item on Ebay.de and did not pay has not cancelled the transaction from her end, I did it from my end stupidly rather than open a NPB

Now I see that I am eligible for a FVF credit but can't for the life of me figure out how to do it in German!
  • I brought some of those colourful fridge letters 3 packs of them. They never arrived so the seller constantley told me to wait 15 days waited 15 days still never arrived so they were sending the same messages i opened a case they still were saying to wait another 15 days!!! When i requested a replacement.. Thats when they sent it recorded delivery and then had the right to ask for positive feedback after so long of ignoring me!

Just a few that spring to mind...

I had some guy neg me because I didn't send him the item. ebay removed it once I explained to them that he never paid..

A woman opened a case because she hadn't received her item. I'm still waiting for ebay to resolve it/her to respond/Paypal to 'unhold' the money.. after reporting her because I refunded her a while back, having failed to elicit a response from her, twice.. :wall:

Oh and a buyer left me + f/b warning others about the poor quality of the item (when others happy), then asked me to leave f/b.. I'm still debating whether to.. I might just block them (at least for now..)

They can be as ignorant and ungrateful as they want, and there ain't newt we can do. It really is a buyers' market!
