Thanks guys.
Christmas was lovely but I am looking forward to getting back to normal. We found homes for all the gifts today (how many toys ) and the house looks good. If we do decide to move I'm fairly confident this would shift quickly. Really need to give it some proper thought but our gut is saying yes
Must sleep now, goodnight all xMFW

Defiantly give it some thought
What i do in this situation is have a list
on the left benefits on staying on the right benefits of moving
Wrighting things down so you can see the benefits for yourself really opens your eyes well it does with me :]

Yay go for it
A bonus would be losing the idiot neighbour who I can only assume is related to Mr and Mrs Laurel Hedges who feature in my diary from time to time
(Dare I mention I too found a house ...but...Mr Watty said no way!!)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

There's something about these diaries and house moves. Good luck with whatever you decide. Sometimes it just feels right.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Sounds good, ATB! A detached, in particular - wonderful!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Morning guys
Thanks for your input as ever. Wanting a detached place makes me sound and feel very middle class! However I am incredibly noise sensitive and always have been, but it has worsened since we a) had kids - ours fall out of bed a lot! and b) moved to this house which has the thinnest walls and noisiest grumpiest neighbours!
I would relax far more of an evening if I didn't hear them banging around all the time. It is something we need to think about properly... there are only 2 neighbours to the new place, one of whom is quite close (but still not attached) and there is a massive paddock at the back so if we did buy it DH and I would write to the landowners to see if they would sell us 6 foot or so of their land so we could lengthen the garden (that's the only downside)
Right off to make another cuppa - 5.45 is not my idea of an appropriate get-up time DS!
Hugs all round... PS Watty tell me MORE!!xx

Another point of note - if we do move I would take DS out of nursery, as its around a 30 minute drive away and just wouldn't work practically. He would then be at home with me full time until age 3 (just over a year away). Financial savings would be vast, and come September I will only have DS at home all day as DD starts school (another thing to add to the potential stress of moving, but we would want to move before she starts FT school to minimise disruption).
Meals will be leftover based today, we have loads xxMFW

I totally get it on neighbour noise - I've had a blissful week with the adult offspring next door not being there, they were back yesterday, and it was back to the same routine of a loud TV in the bedroom next to my bedroom, going on till 1am
Go for it, ATB. A nearby property might make sound from a party or something, but noise through the walls is entirely different.

Have always been lucky with the terraced and attached houses and not had noisy neighbours. In fact here in detached house land has been the loudest (because Mr and Mrs Laurel Hedges had a drum playing son - now given up thankfully - and next door but one have a summer house and he likes his music LOUD).
But sounds like it might be a good time to consider - plus - I noted the 'financial savings' comment
House of own desire is 7 acres with a 1920s bungalow in middle that needs replacing (almost beyond repair) a small orchard, a pond and is situated in the middle of no-where. Mr Watty says if we sell up and buy it we won't be any better off which is really what our next move should be about......since when did he get so sensible????Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
