Change the bed sheets when I remember, probably every 2-3 weeks, towels are changed once a week but washed fortnightly as won't put washer on for half a load. I use half the amount of washing liquid recommended and always wash at 30 degrees.
Hand wash the dirty dishes every 3 days...again I ain't heating the hot water up for 2 plates, a cup, and a knife fork and spoon!
I am healthier than most people I know, had a cold at Xmas, first one in 4 years...colleagues/ friends who pour scorn at my frugal ways are constantly suffering with one ailment or another and taking time off work0 -
I change bedding weekly, clothes are worn once even cardigans and towels are only used once. I also change my bath mat twice a week
I know I am very particular !!! but I just cant help it. I get on my own nerves at times as I am always over run with washing
I wash clothes at 40 but towels and bedding are washed at 60.0 -
Bedding once a week, curtains every 6 months, towels and clothes every use except jumpers, occasionally jeans and coats. Coats washed at least once a month.
I use an anti-bacterial with sporicide for deep cleaning and aldis kitchen and bathroom spray for general daily cleaning. I also use dettol surface cleanser, anti bac soap and wipes, and napisan or dettol laundry sanitiser.

I use hot water and washing up liquid or cream cleaner if things are really bad:rotfl:
Bleach down the loo once a week.
Just goes to show everyone has their own perception of cleanliness and none of us should judge each other0 -
3 adults & a mad dod.
Towels (tea, hand & bath) daily, clothes in contact with skin - underwear, socks, shirts etc - daily, 'work' trousers 2-3 days, casual (non work) trousers up to a week, bedding weekly, jacket type stuff 10 days to 2 weeks.0 -
Interesting to read other peoples way of life.
My bed linen gets moved round 1/4 turn each week, as there's only me in a king-sized bed it wears evenly. The 4 pillows also get turned. So I'm another who washes bed linen every 4 weeks. Towels every couple of weeks as I seldom use them, instead I put on a cotton robe after showering. Bath mats when I'm looking for things to make a load in the machine. I mix a large box of Surf washing powder with a small sack of soda crystals, a tablespoon get the clothes clean and it cleans the washing machine at the same time. No fabric softener or drier, everything goes on the line as long as it isn't raining and comes in smelling of fresh air.
Bra's every 3 days, pants, sox, tights every day.
I have house clothes and going out clothes. House clothes, mainly trousers and tops get washed every three or four wears (unless I've been gardening or doing heavy cleaning then every day). Going out clothes about the same. All clothes are taken off and hung to air overnight before going in the wash or wardrobe.
I don't use anything other than the most basic products to shower or wash and wouldn't dream of buying a skin cream for more than a couple of £'s. My DM used water and Nivea cream on her face, she barely had a wrinkle at 93. What was good enough for her is good enough for me. Shower twice a week at home, twice a week at the pool, the other three days top and tail unless I'm going out then it's a shower.
Washing up is done every couple of days or so except for the cat/dog bowls, they're done every day. I cook in the m/w, steamer and sc so don't have dirty saucepans, the frying pan which is used only occasionally gets wiped with paper as it's a good quality non-stick.
House cleaning is done with hot water and Stardrops products - general cleaner, disinfectant etc. I spend roughly £12 a year on cleaning products.
I've lived for 67 years and apart from having given myself a lung problem because I used to smoke I'm a lot healthier than many people of my age.0 -
Beds are changed weekly. Towels are washed each time we have a bath/shower. The hand towel on the hand rail is used to stand on (cant stand bath mats) so that's washed straight after its been used to stand on.
Personally, underwear is changed daily. Day clothes every other day (unless ive spilt something).
Loo and bathroom is steam cleaned every other day and so are the hard floors. Toilet bowl is still bleached each night. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
This is an interesting post.
I wash bed linen at 40 degrees every 3 weeks. We both shower once a day.
I wash the towels once a week and the bathroom floor is done every 2 weeks. I wash the bath mat weekly or so.
I bleach the loos and clean the seats etc with antibac several times a week. I antibac the kitchen every time it is used.
I wash the kitchen towels etc at least once a week. We use throws on the sofas and only heat the house to 18 degrees. I wash those at least once a month0 -

I do exactly the same, except that sometimes the bedding stays a bit longer if I have towels drying on the banister and the weather is too wet to hang laundry on the line outside. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
