The anniversary date is largely irrelevant - you can claim anytime subject to a minimum amount.

It may still come into play if you don't earn a minimum amount in the year which is presumably why they've kept it at all.

And in July 2007 an anniversary date of June 2007 is surely going to change to the next year anyway???

    From MS website:

From 1st October 2006, you’ll no longer automatically receive your Cashback Bonus award cheque on your anniversary date (the date you opened your account). You’ll be able to redeem it whenever you want.

Hmm, the 15th of August is when the 28 day "complaints service standard" for a reply expires, so I gave them a call to push them along a little. Sadly they don't expect complaints on a Sunday so the complaints team weren't there.

Apparently, my complaint is still "ongoing", and then they tried to flog me the balance transfer rate. The lady was taken aback a little when I advised that I would be concerned that they might not honour their BT rate in view of them not honouring the cashback thus far.

Oh well, I'll ring on the 15th and ask them what's going on.

Yep, same problem here. The cashback is only accruing at 1%, now 0.5%, spent over £2k!

I'll give them a ring too. Has anyone had theirs corrected? Is it one for watchdog?

Unless T&Cs have changed, the anniversary date is relevant, but only for earning cashback, not claiming it.

You now have to phone up and ask them to send you your cashback (in multiples of £15), so you never get the full amount unless you can adjust your spending to earn exactly the right amount of cashback.

However, in following years after the introductory offer, you earn 1% cashback on the first £2000, then 0.5%, so the first £2000 spent after your anniversary date earns more cashback.

Had this particular Morgan Stanley card since May. I haven't seen the 3% rate at all and somehow I don't think I ever will. As soon as I hit the initial £15 cashback mark, this card is going in the shredder and I will be applying for a CapitalOne cashback card instead.

I'm glad it wasn't only me! I haven't seen this 3% rate either and it should of ended in July. I wrote them a letter in July and got the standard "we're looking into it" letter back saying they have 28 days (dated 26th July) so they have until Thursday before I kick up some more stink!

It's disgusting to be honest...I should have over £90 cash back but have just over £40

From what I've been told (several times) the bonus to make up 3% is added on your next statement after the end of the 3 month or whatever offer period.

So if it ended for you in July it will appear on your August statement.

Well, having been told during my last phone call to them in July that all would be corrected in my August statement, surprise, surprise August statement is still wrong! Like the ollie2001 I am waiting for the 28 days to pass before I can chase them up following my letter of complaint. ollie2001, please keep us posted on how you get on.

I requested mine on 24/7 - exactly 28 days ago - and my cheque was still conspicuously absent from today's post. My fourth/August bill also still shows it calculated at the standard 1%. I will try to chase them up tomorow and post the outcome here.

What with this and interest being charged on the new annual fee for their Classic card, poor old MS do seem to be having more than their fair share of problems with their systems at present.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
