Mine doesn't seem to be there, on instruction booklet it says deskjet 4100 on printer it says 4180

Well some device is downloading without me clicking anything, hope its from 1st link you gave...... im not sure laptop is windows 8.1 now as it started as 8 when brought.

I wonder if its worth making an image of your CURRENT system (to avoid the lengthy process you have just gone through). This is more of an open question to others as I don't have a "solution for all situations". However this guide may be useful
