  • it would appear that using the free question to ask for the answers to the AQA tests doesn't work

I'd love to know what FR stands for. Seeing that I am one I'd like to know my job description. :p I know SR stands for Senior Researcher.

FR = Freelance Researcher.... Basically everyone that works for AQA that is not management or Senior Researcher.

  • I'm averaging £1.50 an hour at the moment! I think I'm picking up the speed though, if I just take today into account, I'm averaging £2.52 an hour.
  • I've been up and running for a couple of weeks. Just do the odd evening here and there and have made about £45 so far. It does seem to take me about 6 minutes per question as being a new FR I want to make sure I've got them right. Have managed to get two answers in the Top Five already though. Really hate ego questions. They're of no interest to me and I rarely can find any decent info so these account for most of my skips. Any tips?

Have a look on the ibresearchers yahoo group, there is info there on how to answer ego texts.

I've just completed my first lot of questions and am awaiting my review. Do many people fail the review? I was panicking about my answers no being good enough as they seem to have quite high standards. Am still averaging about 7 minutes a question which is not great. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be!
Does it get easier as you get used to it?

I was approved as an AQA researcher last month and I failed my first review. My SR told me to answer 30 more questions and then I had another review. I passed that one. I think they have a high turnover of FRs so it wouldn't make sense for them to dump everybody who fails a review.

After that you only have a review every so often, not every month like I first thought.

If you fail your review just be very careful when they give you 30 more questions, even if it takes you 20 minutes per question.

Like you would expect you will get faster as you get better at using the AQA database and work out the best websites to use.

And I agree with everybody else here, ego texts are very annoying. But they make AQA a lot of money. Once you get a set routine of how to search for ego texts they become a bit easier.
The best questions to get are "when will I meet my next boyfriend," "will me and Tom get together at the weekend" etc.
