How can you fill in those forms anyway without a business name?! You work on behalf of someone else so are employed?! I don't get the whole set-up myself. Seems like they just can't be arsed with minimum wage legal requirements.

As i said b4 just ring up the IR its far easier than filling in the form and explain that you technically freelance. they will then take AQA's name and address.

I got the email syaing I'd passed my test a week past Monday, and received my welcome pack through the post last week, but I still ahven't had my email about password, databes, induction etc. I emailed Rowina on Monday and have not had a reply yet.

Anyone know if this is normal? I desperately want to get started, I'm worried what's holding ti up.

Keep emailing - they have had problems get my emails so just keep trying.

Have just had my induction and am gonna do my 30 questions tonight. Am actually really excited!

You don't need a business name really if your self-employed, you just use your own name. The tax office wont care about a name, your just a tax number to them.

Thanks for everyone who mentioned this! I've passed the test and am organising my induction.

I was already in the market for a new computer, so will be getting one quickly now. Does anyone do AQA work on a laptop? I'm wondering if it would bring my speed down, and I'm better off using a pc...

Also, if anyone knows where I can get a cheap newish mac laptop or computer still in warranty, let me know!

Lots of people use laptops, I will be using one soon. Cant seem to get AQA to work with the wireless connection though.

Wireless is evil! Our proper connection died and we're stuck with cruddy wirelss Keeps dropping out on us because the homehub seems to dislike it... plus I think a lot of our neighbours are shunting us off our channel

Hi all, there is some interesting reading here.

I'm an FR for AQA, and frequently earn over £12 per hour, which is infact more than my dayjob

In reply to tillyheald's message, if you're thinking of doing AQA on a mac laptop, I highly encourage it. I use a mac, and it boosts my productivity by at least 50% (with the right software installed).

The way to make money using these services (amongst many other ways), is to get to know your operating system. If you're using a mac, install QuickSilver - it is a free productivity enhancement utility, and will help you to no end - even outside of AQA!

Also ditch your mouse. Learn the keyboard shortcuts - do you know how much time you waste moving your hand back and forth from the keyboard to the mouse? Lots. Particulary, grasp the Command+tab (control+tab for Windows) window switching shortcut.

There is so much advice available for internet researchers. You can make good money. But you can also frequently make below minimum wage if you're very slow, and do not have the ability to discard irrelivent information, or get easily sidetracked. Also, if you believe that it is easy money, you will fail.

Anyway, let me know if you have any specific questions. I will try to help you, but only within the realms of my corporate responsibility. I.e., I'm not going to tell you all the secrets!
