Unofficially? The answer's the same unless you are really lucky. Indeed Nwide have sometimes not given the 5% interest rate even after a break of 12 months as their system seems to err on caution and people have to remind them that they are now re-eligible.

I've just asked NW via secure messaging who would get the RAF reward if someone's recommended by more than one person. The reply was: "When the person being referred completes the switch form they would be asked for the details of the person who referred them.! Effectively the friend being referred has the control, and should more than one person complete a refer a friend form they would decide."

My wife requested a switch online a couple of days ago and there was no question regarding the referrer. Are NW CS just making stuff up?

Why should they be different to any other CS? They have a collective reputation to maintain, even if it's a mediocre or bad one.

In their defence, they also have to cope with all sorts of customers all day long.....

I have recently done a switch and was not asked who referred me, but we both got paid the £100 each.

I'm on my third through TCB, and second with Quidco.

The detail of the TCB t and cs states "you are only entitled to one cashabck. If you open other FlexAccounts, FlexDirect or FlexPlus accounts no further cashbacks will be paid. I received thw RAF bonus AND TCB cashback a few months ago. It's now over a year since we closed our flexdirect so can get 5% again. Having read the T and Cs I was going to go via Quidco and live with the lower cashback, but having read this post i wonder about doing it via TCB again. Anybody else succeeded in getting multiple cashbacks despite the t and cs?

TCB will not, I think, honour multiple cashbacks for NW accounts. Happy to be corrected but I see no evidence here that anyone has succeeded.

fuzzgun19 says he/she has done three through TCB - but those may not all be through the same TCB account... I suspect that might have been one NW cashback per TCB account - but using three TCB accounts.

I might be wrong - but if I were you I'd go with Quidco, unless you have access to another TCB account (and yes, it's one TCB per person - but there might be several persons in your household...).

I've had 2 x £80 for Flexacc's, and just had 1 x £75 for FlexDirec account all on the same TCB acc. This last one didn't track so I put in a claim, and it's been approved and paid today. :)

Currently on my 2nd one with Quidco.

    /opens rant.

NWFD applied for via TCB last month, account opened, switched, funded etc etc but it never tracked at TCB so its on the manual claim process.

OH opened NWFD via quidco this week knowing she can use the "price promise", didn't want the same none tracking issue......not tracked again.

    I used PC1 with IE
OH used PC2 with Firefox. all cookies etc cleared each time.

    95%+ tracking reliability? ok.

ive posted in the quidco rep thread as its 72 hours before entering a missing CB claim but also 72 hours for entering a price match link.

ive actually stopped using cashback sites as nothing tracks, well, nothing that's worth while. the pence stuff did but the big £££ stuff is always chase chase chase for us. we came back to CB sites for these 2 accounts.

    /rant over.

Ad-blocking software and pop-up blocking software can often influence the tracking methods too. Make sure you disable these temporarily when you are using these tracking based cash back systems.

Also, as a rule of thumb, you should never buy something under the pretence that you'll get cashback at a later date. Always ask yourself whether the deal is good without the cashback offer before making a decision. This is because it can often be tricky to reclaim the cashback and sometimes it isn't even guaranteed. I'm not saying cashbacks are a scam - they are not, I'm just saying err on the side of caution.
