Yep, I think it will definatly be going off the mortgage ... and when it comes through I will have beaten my target of saving £2400 this year towards mortgage overpayments (£200 per month) already!! :j :j .... and I've still got nearly 3 months to find some more :D I think it may slow down slightly because of Christmas, but saying that I have quidco and topcashback to come so may still meet the monthly targets ;)

You've just posted on my thread saying that even though I reckon my ski fund total will slow up for a while, you reckon I will find a way of getting it moving.

so I am going to say the same thing more or less to you - I am sure you will find ways of meeting those monthly targets between now and Christmas! Just needs a little effort, and a bit of focus!

    Have a good day x

I keep a chart and log everything so I know what money is coming, eg. mystery shops, once I do them I log under the correct month when I will be paid for them as it is usually quite a while after  ... anyway, I just wen and checked it and November is looking fine, I should have over £200 coming in, but December is only up to £120 at the moment and this month is also ess than £150 ... hopefully if I can get some ebaying done today that might help get this months target within reach, but I'm a bit worries that ebay will be even slower than usual because of the postal strike ... will it put people off ??

Well done Benben on meeting your £200 per month mortgage over payments. It makes me feel guilty. You are achieving so much you are inspiring me to try harder. :T

    Hi benben
I can't believe I've never posted on your diary! I've just read through the last 5 pages or so (in reverse order, which is confusing!) and come across some v familiar posts, so I've been reading, cos I met you on hypno's diary, but never posted. Mad.

Anyway, paying off the mortgage with £180 sounds fantastic to me. The bits and bobs of cash I get from amazon, mystery shopping and whatnot are put into a separate account, and I was aiming to overpay the max allowable on my mortgage when it reached Nationwide's famous £500 limit. Since my mum gave me a wodge when she was down here recently, tho, I've been thinking, and I'm going to use the expiry of my current 0% deal as a cutoff - what my mum gave me goes into mortgage overpayments, what I earn in dribs and drabs from way back when until Christmas goes to cut down the credit card debt. It might not seem useful, since its at 0%, but it improves my cashflow much more than the mortgage overpayment: £15 per month instead of £2.50.

Sorry for the hijack somewhat - it just occurred to write it down now because you're wondering about overpaying, and I think any overpaying we can do is really important.

My ex picked up ds this morning and I went shopping ... I always need to get out the house for a bit when ds goes. Unfortunately it meant I went out and spent money :wall:
I got .... 2 lamps for the bedroom (£2.50 each), a nail varnish in Boots (and got another one free ;) £2.59), 2 more Leappad games for ds for xmas (£2.99 each in Woolies, reduced from £11.99 each), a game for ds stocking (£2.99), a book for ds stocking (£1), a pack of 36 pencils (50p), a pack of crafty stick-on wiggly eyes (70p), halloween bunting (£1) and halloween decorations (70p). Then I went to Sainsburys and spent £36  this did include a bottle of vodka though to make some toffee vodka with later :D

    Some good bargains there benben:D
I'm just debating whether to go and have a tootle round town:rolleyes: not been shopping for ages. Have got all my main xmas pressies already and tons of bits and pieces for hampers etc but need a few odds and ends to finish them.
I've got £50 worth of pigsback boots vouchers too so could have a splurge in there guilt free:j .. I'm going in for a hysterectomy end of nov so want to get xmas wrapped up before then as don't think I will be up to much afterwards for a while:o . Not bought any choccies etc yet but don't want to be tempted to dip in them:eek:

Okay I have talked myself into going - let you know if I bag any bargains:D
Oh and its triple points at boots today if I remember right

I need to tidy the flat a bit and then I'm gonna get all my pressie stuff out and see where I'm up to ... I'd like to get all the pressies sorted asap really as this year I'd like to have more time to enjoy the build-up to christmas with ds.
I have got several crafty bits put away for him to make on a wet afternoon and then he can give them to the relatives with their pressies ;):D

Sophiesmum ... did you grab any bargains??? There weren't too many about yesterday when I went out ...
Today I really must get on and do something, yesterdaay other than going shopping I did absolutely nothing :o because I know ds is back today I will be more motivated to get on with something, I hate it when he's not here :o
I'm still waiting to hear about my review with AQA but hopefully I'll hear soon and then I can get on with earning some money

Really glad you did "nothing" yesterday - makes me feel so much better for not achieving everything on my list!!

Hope AQA goes well - it is something I have thought about in the past, but I am doing so much else in the way of bits and pieces, that if I take anything else on I am in danger of losing the plot all together, and that is not the general idea now, is it!!

I hope you have a good day x
