I like the idea of a blanket though as then he can use it on sickie days if he's snuggled on the sofa
I've just done a survey that earned me 800 nectar points (4 quid)
Sounds nice, maybe the oldstyle board is the best place to ask if you want to make it yourself. I suppose you've already thought of this but, just in case, have you kept any of his baby blankets?0 -
Lilmissup, yep it was tns, it was very boring but a good reward at the end of it
KM, I do still have a big pale blue blanket he had when he was tiny that my parents bought, I hadn't even thought of using that but it makes perfect sense, so thank youMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Hi benben - could you knit the blanket? It would certainly make sewing things onto it easier. Crocheting would also work if you could do some rosette-y type things to sew badges and whatnot on. Or back it with fabric, and sew through to the fabric to secure the badges. It sounds lovely, I've seen several kids with them. A baby blanket is a great idea too tho, very personal, and very dfw.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

KC ... I like the idea of making it myself, but as I've neve knitted/crocheted anything in my life I'd be scared that (a) it would look a mess and (b) it would fall apart very quickly
so I think I will go for the baby blanket option
His blue blanket is a single bed size so will be useful and practical too

Okay its the weekend so that must mean its list-time
The weatherman said it wuld rain all weekend so I was planning on being indoors today, but the sun is shining at the moment so hopefully they are wrong
- Laminate ds swimming certificate
- Put all ds posters / certificates up on his wall
- Sew ds swimming badges onto his blanket
- Return library books
- Pay cheques into bank
- Clean guinea pigs out
- Do an inventory of kitchen cupboards *
- Do an inventory of present cupboard *
- Pay council tax
- Online banking
- Deliver last party invitation
The two inventories: I decided to make a list of whats in the kitchen cupboards as I can hardly shut them, so I reckon I could have a cheap food week if I start to use up what I've already got  The present one is similar, I have loads of bits put away without any real idea of what I've got or who its forMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Blooming weatherman has got it wrong. It's beautiful and sunny up here too, blue skies and very little wind. We've got a football tournament to go to tomorrow and the forecast isn't great so here's to them getting it wrong again...:D0

Hiya - I misunderstood, thought you were wanting to crochet - glad its sorted so easily, thats great - and I like the idea of laminating the certificate.
The storecupboard month - I'm sort of doing storecupboard till Christmas.... I've joined redsquirrel in trying to spend only £150 on food till Christmas - I have a *tremendous* amount of food in the place, considering its only me - if the food supply broke down suddenly, I'd outlast everyone in my street, I reckon!
Weather isn't so good here, v v cloudy, but still, not tipping it down. Off to do some more of my list!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
They must have been talking about Yorkshire - chucking it down here! So much for mowing the lawn and taking the dogs for a long walk......!0

KC ... I did want to crochet as I thought it would make it more special, but knowing my creative abilities, or lack of
, I think its best if I stick to a blanket he's already got
:rotfl:
The weather here is still looking good, I've got a few jobs done already (stripped both beds, first lot of washing is on, dishwasher filled and I've gone round and cleared the floor in each room, the two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom just need cleaning and hoovering now, the loungs needs a bit more effort), so hopefully if the weather holds we may go up into the forest later today
