Well my almost no spend day just went out the window  ... I have sorted ds teachers presents for school, I bought one of those charity gifts from Save the Children, the gift was a place at a school for a child in the third world ;):D I thought it was more useful than yet another box of chocs or a coffee mug ;) It cost 21.00, but it is a join gift for ds teacher / ta's / after school club helpers / breakfast club helpers  :D It also saves me the job of searching for some useless tat that they didn't want anyway ;)

That is a really good idea for a gift for teachers - thankfully now mine are at high school we don't have all those TAs, dinner ladies etc etc to buy for.

I got an email today to say I've been accepted for a survey site I've been trying to join for ages for ages  Its one of those where you have to see a banner on another website, you cant just sign up ;)

No extra money appeared in my account overnight, I dont know why I think it may do but I always check just in case :o:D

Swimming after school tonight, then the weekend and only 2 weeks to go till we break up, I'd better do some more planning for the summer challenge, I ad a look again last night for some more mysteru shops but there was nothing in my area again

Ds got a certificate and a badge at swimming tonight, so all in all its been a pretty good week for him :D I'm thinking about making a big blanket, possibly buying one, possibly crocheting one, then sewing on all the badges he gets (swimming, scouts etc etc) ... then he can keep it when he's older ;) My aunt did that for her 2 boys and they're now both married but have still got their blankets :D

I've spent 2.50 on lunch, 80p on sweets, 2.00 on raffle tickets (my tutor group at school have organised it) and 2.20 on ds swimming badge. I also spent 3.50 on one of the Cath Kidston bags in Tesco, it will be great for chucking beach stuff in during the summer ;)

I still have my "badge blanket" and DD has one too that she takes camping - I would go for it if I were you - it is something that doesn't really cost much, and is a really nice record of his activity.

I thought it would be nice to make it, make it more personal, but if its crocheted I wouldn't be able to sew stuff on it would I ???? :o:o:o I do have a brand new chocolate fleece in the airing cupboard that I could use but I'm still keen on the idea of making it myself  Any ideas anyone??

  • No ideas on making one sorry but just a suggestion of how about using sleeping bag? I know it costs if you don't already have one but it could be something he could use forever if he wanted to, when camping with his friends etc... he might get a bit of friendly ribbing when he is older but I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
