The car boot was very easy, ds was well behaved and he enjoyed playing "shops" ;):D We only took €27, so €22 after the pitch :o:o BUT ... everything I was selling was utter tat, all stuff that wasn't even worth listing on ebay, so all in all I suppose it was okay  I must have shifted quite a bit of junk as the car was only half-full when we came back and it was packed solid when we went :D It doesn't seem like much for a boot sale, but its cleared out a couple more boxes from my garage, given ds some fresh air for a few hours and made enough to pay my mortgage for the next 46 hours :D:D:D

Everything has been unpacked into the garage and we're now vegging on the sofa ;) I do have 3 huge boxes in the garage that I haven't even tackled yet, they're full of baby clothes which normally dont seem to sell well but at this car boot loads of people were buying clothes so I may sort through them, ey some and take the rest and do another one maybe in half-term at the nd of May.

Time for a cup of tea and a mooch on here ....

£22 is £22!! Not bad really for a little bit of effort - think how long it would have taken you to make that on AQA........

    So, hurrah for £22!!

Yep, I agree Hypno :D and ... I have moved it into the mortgage pot where it is worth more like €66 :j :j as each pound I overpay knocks about €3 off the mortgage ;) so that seems like ahuge amount for some old tut that was going to the tip, not even good enough for a charity shop most of it

I've been doing more thinking   .... I've decided that all the money I make from the ebay/car boot challenge will go into the mortgage pot. I will still track it as a separate challenge as I want to see how much I can make from it, but having faffed around trying to decide what to do with the money I thought this was the best option ;) Anyhow, having crunched some numbers, it has knocked 2 more months off :j :j This means since January I have knocked whole year off the mortgage  I'm well chuffed :D:D:D

    Hi Benben

Its really interesting reading about your mortgage challenge and how much it costs you etc. How long do you expect it to take you to get it down to 2019?

MM ... thank you, I can't quite believe I've knocked a year off already in 2008, its all just little bits here and there ut its great to watch them all add up ;):D

KM ... The mortgage calculations are quite confusing, as it stands at the moment if I didn't make any more overpayment but just paid my normal amounts then my mortgage would finish in August 2030 (originally December 2034). If I overpay by €200 every month from when I started the challenge then my mortgage woul e gone by June 2019 which is my aim as this is when ds finishes school (he's currently in reception :o ). However, as I have been able to make the odd little bit extra here and there on top of the €200 overpayment, as long as I can keep paying off an extra €200 a month it is showing that it will be gone by March 2019 :j :j :j So, in answer to your question, it will take me until 2019 to get it down to there if that makes sense?? :D:D

I must admit having done this number crunching today I'm feeling all motivated again to get on and make some more cash !!! The matched betting lark really must get going, I reckon I am going to do a few small ones to get the hang of it and then really concentrate on it in the summer holidays which also coincides with the footie season restarting as I'll have plenty of time to do it then.

Once ds is in bed tonight I want to have a good catch up with the various survey sites and quidco and check for any latest offers on there that I have missed ;):D I might even clean my keyboard too as half the keys aren't working because of the amount of crumbs stuck under them :o:o :rotfl:

Oh right yeah I see what you are saying it doesn't take much to confuse me but that makes sense. So as things stand you will be knocking 15 years off your original mortgage and saving goodness knows how much in interest.

    Well done x

:o:o A few more dull stats I've just worked out   .....

If I keep the €200 overpayments going my balance at the end of each year should roughly be:

    2008 52,000
    2009 48,000
    2010 44,000
    2011 39,500
    2012 35,000
    2013 30,000
    2014 25,000
    2015 20,000
    2016 14,500
    2017 8,500
    2018 2,000
    2019 GONE !!! :A
