no,its the original school that had the home visits and stuff and is lovely, but that the one that would mean the car journey every day .... oh oh oh I dpn't know what to do for the best!! I think I will call the new one in the morning, double check he would definatly have a place at the breakfast club and the afterschool club, and then go and see it in my lunch-hour, and then decide whether he goes in for his forst day at the original school or not
Why is it all so complicated!!!

Sorry Spud, it is confusing!!
School A:- originally applied to as first choice but didn't get in
- Was 2nd choice
- Home visits
- Lovely school, lovely teachers
- Car journey every day
- Different county so some of our holidays would be different / would therefore need to find childcare at these times
- Have already bought uniform and ironed in name labels
- Offered me a place today
- Could walk / cycle there
- A better school according to most people round here, hence the waiting list

Right, I think I'm with it.
School A sounds to be perfect, except for already having uniform for school B.
School B sounds like it could cause some problems for you - holidays could be different, cant get there without the car.
Try and visit school A in your lunch break tomorrow and then make a decision.
Have you looked here http://www.dfes.gov.uk/performancetables/
Dont know if the information on there would help or not.
How come they both feed into the same high school if they're in separate counties? That doesnt happen round here.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Well in the end I decided to go for school A, I visited it today and although school B has a nicer feel about it, when I weighed it all u then it had to be school A. Also found out that they stagger the starts so he will start on monday with 14 others and then the rest start the monday after, so he hasn't missed anything yet
In the long run I think this school is the best decision. Now I have to go and get some new uniform this weekend
I have soent £4.50 today on food and bits on the way home. I got my Next bill and I owe £13 :j Thought I'd paid it off in full, but its still great as it was £450 ish last monthNothing mush else to report tiday really ....

I think you made the right decision on the school benben as it seems much more convenient as well as being a better school.
And just to let you know I'm really enjoying your diary. You seem to be doing so well with just the two of you. Well done and carry on posting!
What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!

Today I have spent 80p on some chips and £17.00 on a new jumper / tie / bookbag for ds for his new school. I have to go and buy his shirts tomorrow and pe kit. I will have to adjust the money this month slightly to allow for the extra uniform costs.
I have survived my first week at work and now understand why the rest of the world looks forward to a fridayMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Right, ds is in bed and I have had a bit of a tidy-up and done one lot of washing and put another lot on, emptied the dishwasher and filled it again, put away all the toys in his bedrrom (but not tackled the lounge yet  ), and so I thought I would write a list of what I need to acheive over the weekend (ds goes to his dads tomorrow morning until sunday afternoon). I was going to scribble it on a piece of paper but thought if I put it on here then I am more acountable to you guys for making sure it gets done
So ..... this weekend I will : .......- Catch up with all the washing
- Catch up with all the ironing
- Clean and hoover throughout
- Do weekly food shop
- Finish buying ds uniform (again! )
- Label said uniform
- File / bin / action pile of paperwork/post on table
- Buy nephews birthday present
- Post friends birthday card
- Pay in a cheque
- Sort garage stuff ready for car boot sale on sunday
- List 10 items on ebay
- Buy petrol
- Clean out car
