Same here - 2 kid free days for us, then back to it properly.
Awww is DS excited? My DD starts high school on Tuesday, and is currently practicing doing her tie :rolleyes:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

I think he is but he doesn't know anyone else as we're new here
but I think that bothers us more than the kids doesn't it?? His teacher is coming for a home visit on wednesday to meet him, its a really sweet idea at least that way all the kids will be familiar with her before their first day

It is us that worries more than the kids - they make new friends so quickly. At least he's not starting part way through the school year, so they will all be new together.
That's so nice of his teacher to come and see him.
Good luck tomorrow - I'm sure you'll enjoy it.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Its a really nice idea isn't it?? The teacher goes to every childs house to meet them in their own environment / see their bedroom / toys etc and get to meet the parents too. I'm just hoping my new job lets me nip out for half an hour to be thereMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Well I survived my first day at school
It was all meetings and stuff all day really nithing too taxing !! Good news too ... the school are building a fitness suite and the staff can use it after school :j :j So, I don't need to join the gym, I'll be able to go in there after work and then pick up ds from his afterschool club :j That should save me a bomb and hopefully will mean I will actually use it i I don't even have to travel there or anything
Seemed very strange not being able to check in on here during the day though, then again, I was home by 3:30 so still plenty of the day left :rotfl:

Today was a good day too ... I think I might like this job
:j
On the money side today I spent £2.40 on lunch and then spent £4.85 after work on some hooks for the back of doors, one of those flat things to dry jumpers on over the bath, and a few other random bits from the cheapy shop (not quite a £ shop but that kind of thing;) ).
Last night I sat down and made myself a really basic spreadsheet for my mortgage overpayments, I guess its a bit like a snowball calculator. Everytime I find any more money to chuck at it I can bung it in the calculator and log it on my sheet ... its on my desktop and was the first thing I looked at when I logged on todayI hope it will keep me more motivated, the £20 I moved from using my nectar points hit my savings account today and when I bunged it in the calculator (with the rest of my mortgage savings) it means I have so far knocked 23 months off my mortgage ... THATS NEALY TWO YEARS OF PAYMENTS SAVED !!! :j :j WOOHOO !!!! :j :j
