Well seeing as I imagined having to stay in all day I'm a bit lost now cos I can go out again !!! :D The plan is .... get us both showered and dressed then take ds to get his haircut again  and then this afternoon I want to start the mission that is Christmas   I have been buying bits and pieces in the sales and collecting freebies / special deals all year and have piles of stuff under my bed, so I am going to get it all out, se what I have, who can have it and design some posh spreadsheety thing to track it all !! Then I need to figure out what else I still need to get and start looking out for stuff. I know it seems ridiculously early but I start my new job next week so I need to get stuff like this up-to-date beforehand, and the weathers not good enough for the beach today so its not like we're missing out ;)

I seem to have a knack of just spending money this week  :D
We ended up going shopping and I spent £20 in M&S sale (£5 was a voucher) but I got: a t-shirt for me (£1.50), 3 t-shirts for ds (£2 each), 3 pairs of socks for me (£1.50), 2 pairs of Thomas the Tank Engine socks for ds (£1), a pair of shoes for me (£35 reduced to £9;) ), and a kiddie weather station thing for £1.50. (nephew for xmas).
Then we went to Tesco and I found some little boxes to make sweetie parcels (see the retro sweetis thread on the special occasions board), so bought of them at 99p, and I go some sweeties too. Also bought a diary in WHSmiths because once I start work I need to be better organised than I am now  but I also had a voucher so didn't actually pay cash for this, oh and in Tesco I also bought a set of 3 hand-painted flowerpots on a tray(£10 reduced to £4.50) which will do for an aunt for xmas ;)
Then we got ds haircut (£6.20:eek:  )
Hopefully thats the end of my spending for today :D:D I'm off to make a cup of tea now before I start sorting the mountain of stuff I've been squirelling away all year :D:D

    Hi BenBenandme
Just wanted to say i have been following your diary and enjoy reading your little commentaries:D
Sounds like you got some good bargains today:j :j
think that is a good idea too about the savings account. It is handy to have a bit of spare money which is easily accessible in an emergency, and leave your isa money untouched and earning interest out of temptation;).

    keep posting

Well having gone through my present mountain theres good and bad :

The good: I should never need to buy another present for a childs birthday party until ds is at least 15 (he's just 4 ;):D )
The bad: I've got !!!!!! all for any adults for christmas :rotfl:

Well, its not quite that bad but considering how much stuff i have accumalated, very little of it is suitable for anyone I know  :D:D

    For christmas I buy for:

    Ds
    Mum/Dad
    Sister/bil
    brother/sil
    2 x nephews, 1 x niece, 2 x stepbrothers of niece
    nan/grandad
    ex dp (from ds)
    ex mil/fil
    3 x aunts
    2 x friends
    about 5 of ds friends

Of this lot I have probably got stuff for ds friends covered, and I think I have just about got 3 x aunts sorted, the 2 stepsons are done and ex dp is done. Hmm plenty more to go then !!!

    :j :j :j PAYDAY !!!!! :j :j :j
So after much worrying about whether I'd get paid this month or not the results are in !! Yep I got paid and I got about £80 more than I expected and because of the holiday pay I was owed I got about £500 more than normal this month  so I'm a VERY happy bunny this morning :D:D

I have spent an hour checking my budgets and moving my money round the different pots and I'm all set up now ready for the new month!! I kno its sad but I love doing this, I always feel all motivated again! :o

Well, the situation now is .... because of the money my Nan gave me I have a healthy emergency fund :T , I have used some of my extra wages to pay off all the outstanding bits that I hadn't quite managed in August, the overdrafts are clear and the Nexta ccount is too, so as of today I no longer have ANY debts other than my mortgage :j :j :j

This month will be quite tight and I need to really try to make sure I don't go over my budgets, but hopefully as I start work on monday and ds will be at school we won't have so many opportunities to go money-spending :rotfl:

My mortgage plan is to save £200 a month for overpayments, but I have already moved £335 (the remaining extra wages) into this pot and I still have my quidco money to come (£180!!) and some mystery shopping money and surveys money, so I am going to aim for £600 this month and not to dip into it! This would be a huge amount if I do manage it and it probably won't be repeated for a very long time, but thats my challenge for September!

Back to today ... I have to go to the library and pick up 3 books I ordered, then I am going to my Mums which will cost about £25 (forgot about that when I did my budgets  ) ... but we will get a roast dinner :D
I'm also waiting for a reply from PCWorld, I emailed them last night to complain as I bought a USB cable from them and it was £19.99, and yesterday I sa the exact same one in WHSmith for £7.49  I've asked them to explain why they feel the need to charge so much for it ;) I know its my fault and I should have checked prices elsewhere first and I'm not expecting them to refund any of it, I'm just angry and would like to hear their explanation  :D

Will do my pigyclicks and quidco clicks in a bit but ds is going to go mad if I don't get out of bed soon :rotfl:
