Benben,
We've got a Wii and I love it. I'm married to Gadget Man, so we also have an X Box, an X Box 360, 2 PS2s and 2 Nintendo DS's
All the other consoles are only ever played on by my DH ans DS.
The Wii is different, we all play on there as a family and we all love itIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Another day of spending more money than intended
... I spent £2.10 on postage, £2 at the bakers, £5.35 in somerfield. Then a friend came down to visit with her kids and we went to the beach for the afternoon which was really lovely as ds had someone to play with and he loved it
I then spent £6 on ice-creams and £4.70 on car parks
Oh and this morning I spent £84 on tea for two at the Ritz !!!    It is a birthday pressie for my best mate, she bought me a voucher for a facial and stuff in central London so I thought we could make it a day and really treat ourselvesShes really hard to buy for and I know its a lot of money but shes worth it, shes been such a good mate to me over the last couple of years :T :T I do have the money for this in my present fund anyway so its not too bad
£10 bonus from bingo has gone in my account today too so thats a help, and also I rang Talktalk today as they had taken 2 payments from my account last month. They have looked into it and explained it all and basically they will refund one but I have to call again in a couple of days, so that will be another £20 back :TMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

So I'm STILL feeling guilty about the new phone when I woke up today and then postie brings me my mobile bill for my current phone ... and on the back it says you can change to a cheaper plan after 6 months, so I've just phones up t-mobile and reduced my plan and will save £5 a month there. I know its not huge but it will help for the remainder of the contract
I asked when my 18 month contract runs our and she said 21st December which is a bit better than I was expecting, so less than 4 months to go and it should be cheaper too! I know I won't overspend it either as I'll have my nice new shiny phone to use! So that should mean my old phone will cost me another £80 for the rest of the contract and I will get £180 cashback and a Wii from my new phone, so all in all I think I feel okay about it now
Postie also brought me a £10 John Lewis voucher from Pigsback :T so am very happy with him today
Today I'm taking ds to get his haircut before he starts schooland am then going round to my aunts afterwards. Really need to try not to spend much (other than haircut) today ... am totally broke!! Could dip into overdraft if I really have to but would rather not!

Try not to feel guilty about the phone, we all to these things and I am sure it's much cheaper than going out and getting a new phone and a wii!!!
I do this to, but becoming debt free is going to take time and I want to enjoy life while I make these journey. Just make sure you enjoy them!!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Well its been a busy day moneywise so far ... I went to the bank and paid in £72 of coins from the car boot and from my piggy bank :T :T As soon as we got back I paid it off of my Next account so that now stands at £138 :T
Then we went to get his hair cut but it was shut ... I'm obviously still not properly adapted to life away from London, I forget that they all shut at lunchtime on a wednesday and some don't even open at all :rotfl:
Then we went to my aunts and she had a cheque for me from my Nan for £500 for my new flat :eek:I'm soooooo chuffed and don't know what to do with it!! Part of me wants to put it towards my mortgage overpayments fund, but then I'm also thinking about premium bonds / savings account. Oooooh, at least it gives me something nice to think about
My last ebay payment has also come through today so I have also transferred £86 from paypal into my account which will be going off the Next account as well so that should bring it down to £52 :T :TMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Having thought loads about the money from my Nan I think I have decided to put it in a savings account and it will be my emergency fund. At the start of this year my plan was to save £3k in an emergency pot. However when I moved house I was fortunate enough to have £3k left over which I have put into an ISA. However now its in there I wouldn't want to have to take it out as you can't replace it, so I thought I would put £500 into an accessible savings account for emergencies and then if it was a bigger emergency I'd always have the ISA money as a back-up.
However I should also get paid from my old job on friday and if my calculations are correct I should get about an extra £300 (holiday pay/overtime). This could be used to clear any remaining bits on my Next account (£52) and any on my overdraft (probably about £50) and the remainder could then be put into my mortgage overpayment fund.
Any thoughts or better ideas anyone ???Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
