Can no one on the OS board help with the milk - I find them invaluable for stuff like this?

Sammy, the valeting people advised me to go and buy some white vinegar and filute it in a bottle 50/50 with water and spray it, they explained all about how the smell doesn't linger etc etc .... I felt a true old-styler as I'd already got my squirty bottle of vinegar/water as I have been converted by them!! It has helped a bit but the car stinks and today I had all the windows down the whole way to work and it was freezing :rotfl: Hopefully tmorrow they'll get it sorted ;):D

Next sent me post today to say they made a mistake with my account and took off a payment twice by mistake, meaning I still owe them £48   I'm fuming as their website is soooo tricky to track what payments you've made etc. I'm really annoyes as it was lovely to have paid it off
I have to go and pick up the car in a minuts, hopefully it will be smelling beautiful again ;):D and then I have to go to another large supermarket for a mystery shop ;)I must be careful not to spend money while there !!! :p
I had an email reply from AQA today so once ds is in bed I might have a go at the test they sent ;)
I forgot to cancel a free film trial thing and yesterday they took a payment from my account   I need to get more organised, its because I'm at work more now I'm not as up on everything as normal

Well the car is back and smells normal again :D:D The seats are still a bit damp but its all nice and sparkly again, however it cost £50   so I'm hoping Tesco will pay up !!
Went to the other supermarket and only spent £8, got some fruit and veg and some reduced stationery bits - packs of 8 sparkly gel pens reduced to 29p to go in my present box for party bags or something :D
Had fogotten the rugby is on tonight, so the AQA stuff may take a bit longer than thought :D:D

  • Hi Benben,

Just caught up on this thread and wanted to wish you well for this diary. I've been dipping in and out of this thread recently and, although it will sound very patronising, I admire you for being so strong with yourself where money is concerned.:T

I'm going to start something similar in two weeks time on here if you don't mind. I need those two weeks to physically sort out my flat which is a wee bit disorganised. Monday October 1st is a good day for a new start as its a new week and a new month.

I'm a weekend dad although after going to court in March, I managed to secure quite a good deal. I have my boys on Wed night from 5.30pm - 7.30pm for football training then from 3.15pm Friday till Sunday afternoon. They've just started playing for an under-sevens team so as their Mum isn't that keen on football, I get to keep them longer :j :j , last week I took them back at 6pm.

Finally, I'm not sure how old your son is but keep persevering with his football training. I help coach the kids that go with my boys, there's 21 of them in total of all abilities, and some of them that were lacking in attitude or ability a few months back, have shown mega improvement.

    Good luck and keep going.

    Martin

PS Get off your @rse and get going...

Thanks Martin, luckily I love football so I enjoy taking him even if he gets bored of it after half an hour  His father has never made much effort with regard to seeing more of him, he believes once a fortnight makes him a good parent  , he reminds me he has his career to think about and his girlfriend and his mates so doesn't have any more time to see his son    don't even get me started!! But on the plus side it means I get more time with ds;) :D:D
.... and thanks for the kick up the @rse, I'm going now :D

  • I'm afraid a lot of men ( and women too ) should realise that parenting is a lifetime commitment.

Trying hard not to sound boastful but I have a great bond with the boys because I have always made an effort with them. I realise now ( they'll be seven in November ) that they are so similar to me. They like the simple pleasures in life like football, going around the local harbour on a boat, out for walks along the river bank or just chilling at home watching the football on TV or Takeshi's Castle ( makes them cry with laughter ).

I wouldn't mind restarting a career as before ( I was in sales and management ) but being self-employed means that I can choose the work to a point. I work as a courier but keep Wed evenings and Fri afternoons free so I can pick them up. No weekend working either so I can take them to their matches. I'd be much better off working full-time but tbh I'd miss them...:o

A lady that likes football? Hmm... . Best I work on my cuteness...:rotfl:

    Keep happy and take care

    Martin

PS Off to football this afternoon. Yeovil v Leyton Orient League One.:T :j :T
