Oh no, hope it's not too awful code!
Am watching national geographic and knitting jelly babies. Can't help feeling I should be doing something more productive with my afternoon.codemonkey wrote: »You're knitting stuff and learning. That's way more productive than me. I've had a shower and watched an old episode of home and away from 1988.
I can beat you both.
I got up at 17:00 and have done precisely nothing with my day!:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

I made one of those penguins for my nan! Many years ago0

I remember when I was at school, there was a fad for knitted penguins which were about 2cm high. I suspect this one of being bigger than that! (There was also a craze for knitted gloves - again knitted with tiny tiny needles and fine wool - with a little face at the end of each finger. Smilies before they were even invented!

Aw, look at the little penguin! And those jelly babies are gorgeous! I must hunt one down. I have never had a knitted toy, it must be remedied!
Funny enough bat sanctuaries were mentioned to me this week. There is a zoo nearby my teacher friend that has one and they also have a vast cave where you can sit amongst the bats flying around. My teacher friend does fundraising for them and told me he could ask if I could visit before it opens if I visit him in the summer.
Well done to your son, Sue that is wonderful for both of you!
The Konmari method fails dismally with me as most of my problem is that I attach emotion to things. If I question if an item brings me joy I see it with cute little arms and legs and a big grin and then I can't get rid of it...
I had a 17 hour sleep. I find this happens everytime a few days after I go somewhere. I figure my body needs recovery time so it doesn't bother me really other than making me nocturnal which is annoying.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

That is indeed the one. I love it.
Now all do I continue contracting just down the road or go for a chat about a perm role just down the road?

I forgot to mention my teacher friend wrote me a poem for Valentines. All about how there are many kinds of love and how love doesn't judge and is always proud and endures no matter what happens. It was so sweet of him, he is so lovely to me.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I am stuck in a depressive rut and need to do something to get out of it.
I need to get well, get back on track at the gym, get out more, cultivate some hobby or spare time activity and find some other means of employment.
I am paralysed with what needs doing.
It all seems so, 'big'.
As the dawn comes earlier and the evenings are getting lighter, all I can think about is the awful Summer I had last year.
Then there's the knotweed, the work on the house, having to move out at some point - all that work!!
I'm just waiting on the builder to get back to me about when he can start, the payment schedules, packing to leave, finding somewhere to stay.....
All I did all day today was stay in bed.
I feel so tired and low, how can I do everything that needs to be done and get well, get back on track at the gym, get out more, cultivate some hobby or spare time activity and find some other means of employment.....
How do you do it? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Don't know if you're a Friends fan at all, but there's a scene in that that helps me. It's where Chandler is getting married and they've found him in his office and they're trying to persuade him to go and get married. Anyway, they advise him not to think about it in terms of that big scary thing, but to break it down into manageable tasks like having a shower without thinking past that task, until it's time to move to the next one.
I use this technique a lot on Monday mornings. Have a shower. Get dressed. Take the dog out. Eat breakfast. Get on the train. And so on.
